Obsessed with this era of Petrucci. So Eclectic, so good, so 80's...

I’ve watched this a gazillion times. It’s f’n amazing every time. James kills it, John’s solo is spine tingling. I have fond memories of seeing them live back then.

Není Mike Portnoy, není to Dream Theater. LaBrie se snaží, ale není DT

I miss this more melodic Petrucci He's had his moments like Breaking All Illusions and the At Wit's End solos but this is so fun, what's that sound? The sweet melodies, oh, they sing to me. It's enough to make a man sick

A lot of this sounds like the inspiration for a lot of Voices off of the Awake album

The lighting, just puts u in a trance! Especially when i was a youngster! High on weed and watched for the first time! I still remember the feeling i gave me then. Just starting to be a drummer. Such a masterpiece of a VHS! Those who were at this concert truly had the best experience in misic history imo!!

I've been a DT fan for over 30 years but one thing I've always hated about LaBrie's voice is how when he sings those high notes the lyrics become indiscernible. Like the part between 4:02 and 4:19. If you gave me a million bucks I still couldn't tell you one word that he sang in that part.

I'm reading the comments here and I agree that Kevin Moore-era Dream Theater was just magical overall. The music hits just different. There was much more emotion and musicality. Although Jordan Rudess is a much more technical than Moore, I think it kind of pushed DT in a shred-happy direction, and also the metal side took over post-Moore era. Images & Words and Awake had just the right amount of metal but the prog side was more dominant. I also think the rise of shred guitarists like Rusty Cooley pushed JP to lean more on that side and leave behind his 90's playing style ..
