The individual who sent this obviously chooses gaming cleaning his darn house. So shameful. He probably still living in filth. If an Xbox is infested, can only imagine what his house is like, eww.

I'd bet that this system was very close to, or actually on, the floor. Most likely in a room with no carpeting, or anyone thinking to vacuum regularly. Remember: if it has an internal fan it's basically an immobile, inefficient vacuum cleaner.

I lived in a gross apt complex that was infested they destroyed my Xb1 slim and PS4. I was glad I moved out before buying my PS5. I live on farm land now so you'll get occasional field mice but my cat army takes care of that problem.

I’m completely bewildered how somebody can do this to such a good piece of hardware! It shows just the immense lack of care the previous owner had for this wonderful machine! Why can’t people treat their consoles with more respect than this? You know there are people who would have loved to own this before it was cockroach infested and this is the sendoff it has! Just truly disgusting and I’m appalled that the previous owner never cared for this system. You guys did a great job though! ❤️ 👍🏻 I’m subscribing to see more!

Great job on cleaning. I'm wondering out loud. I have heard that there is a product that is used on boats to remove rust staining....of course that is on gel coat but wondering if it would work without affecting plastic too much. Might be worth a test if you have one of these in the future.

We know that are out there someone build a vacuum tabletop to suck them down into a place to rid the world of them or a very strong vacuum to keep them away while working on them !

I found this fascinating and hard to not keep watching. Although I am curious how much something like this costs to have done because that’s an awful lot of labor and I wonder if it would’ve been cheaper to just buy a new Series X?

I lived with my ex that had a son that didn’t clean up after himself. He moved out and when he did the roaches were everywhere. They infested my ps5 which I was pissed off. I put it in a bag with rubbing alcohol. Got it cleaned by a professional for 85 dollars. Worth every penny
@farendiil3 күн бұрын
so if roaches get in a console, doesn't that mean that there's been an infestation in said home to begin with?

Ignore the pinned comment, I think this is an amazing video and you are quite handsome as well. I enjoy a look into restoration along with an attractive voiceover leading the way as I'm educated about cleaning the ins and out of consoles both handheld and regular! Plus being a Scooby-Doo fan, the Kiwi & Teal give off more Shaggy & The Mystery Machine! I will say though, I absolutely think you should give the retrobrighting tutorial from Odd Tinkering's second channel, Odd Experiments a chance as I think going the extra mile will absolutely make a huge difference on returning the console and various accessory shells back to their former glory! ♥♥♥

I'd have a can of Raid roach spray nearby. That stuff kills fast and the cleanup afterward isn't so bad.

Hello I just purchased a Asian probably ex-japanese 60gb Fat PS3 from the 2nd Owner he told me that the insides as repasted, cleaned and selling it to me because the HDD had failing to update but when I teardown it The Plastic case of the PSU was exposed still no such damage and the reason why the Error code appears when I format and update the new HDD was the Blu-ray Drive's Ribbon cable locked, I notice it as stick on the board probably bastard solder it or put super glue. Its there anyway to fix the missing clip on it? BTW same model as you have in the video but its CECHA. I remember the error no it as 8002f14e

Thankfully, I've never had living bugs. Plenty of dead ones. When I buy a used console, it spends a couple of days in a dark colored covered bin or black garbage bag in the sun. Gets nice and hot and kills most things, even bed bugs. Haven't damaged plastic or melted solder...yet...

I would have been disgusted by this a few years ago. But after cleaning out multiple former hoarder houses, I've dealt with worse firsthand. It's a challenge, but boy is it worth it when everything is finally dead and sanitary. Well done, and good call on replacing the heatsink.
