I think I have similar issue. I just bought a mk2 octavia (2.0TDI) with ECU problem. It cranks but not firing up. I'll check the switched ground to the engine control relays tomorrow. I also can't hear the fuel pump working at all. Diagnostic cable is also not able to communicate to ECU but it can to other electronics.

I’m confused. So, the “easy way to replace a capacitor” … is to replace the capacitor the hard way with braid/wick? Come on now!

Thats the first time Ive ever seen bonded leads used in an ECU and the first time Ive seen them repaired. I would love to know if the repair actually worked, why did they break in the first place? I assume you are using high Silver content solder or those silver pads on the thick film circuit will get absorbed?

Could you provide the part number/specs for that transistor? I have the exact symptoms as you and I want to replace the faulty transistor on my board.

These damn safc161cs32 like to die and short 5v rail to gnd, easy to check idle consumption by connecting only gnd and +30 there should be no amp draw. Shorted mcu usually consume 0.7A and draining battery overnight, also shorted keyless mosfets will drain battery. Bad thing is we can´t clone this mcu, I personally have not found programmer that can read this mcu.

It also has a small defect on it, peolpe say that is a sign of a bad relay. Thanks

BTW, why you don't show the measurements on the video?
@javiermitchell70732 ай бұрын
not sure I understand the logic of this troubleshooting: first you measure 23 ohms - which is not a short, then decide to desolder a big mosfet, without any reason whatsoever, then replace it , even you say it is good. By this logic "troubleshooting" means replacing every component you think may be faulty

No. He's doing random measurements, replaces random parts, gives random reasoning then presents the grand finale - no fix. But he made you look!😂
