I'm thinking about purchasing an a3 etron . I need to travel 25km each way to work and back on country roads. Would you recommend?
@mybmwcevolution141512 күн бұрын
I would be able to go 25km on 1 full charge with mine in summer. So you could save 1/2 your fuel bill using the A3 8v e-tron or if you can charge at work, you wouldn't need to fuel at all for work your drive to work and back. In winter i'd expect 20 km on a full charge with the heater on.

How does this hold a door the slides up and down and not out?
@mybmwcevolution141512 күн бұрын
It is designed for doors that slide out, before opening. This would not work for a roller door that opens straight up.
@matthewmiller6068Ай бұрын
Ended up here after seeing a Facebook ad trying to understand how that would remotely stop someone from raising a garage door... I feel like maybe now I need a bigger picture of how the door works? This seems like it would just sit there in front of the door while it goes up and down without actually doing anything... And why not just use the traditional pre motorized door locks that has a lockable handle through the middle of the door which interlocks with the track the rollers ride up and down so that the rollers can't pass where the crossbar is from the interior?
@mybmwcevolution1415Ай бұрын
This lock is designed for garages that swing out and up. This lock stops the door from being able to swing out. A garage with eg a roller door that goes straight up would need a different style lock.

Yes I do. I've got 3 other motorcycles too (Suzuki GSXR 750, BMW 1250 GSA, Suzuki DR650) and it's still my favourite for communiting day-to-day and for anything under 120km/70 miles. It's also the cheapest to ride by far and my wife enjoys the smoothness of the bike vs a geared bike too. I'm also dutch but live in the UK :-) Ik raad de C Evo enorm aan...ik heb er nooit spijt van gehad en dit is de laatste motor die ik zou verkopen van de vier...

Love these panniers, can be pain to mount /dismount, but I have also rigged up a backplate and straps to make it easier. I have to say I don’t agree with the ridged inserts as one of the benefits is when I have less in them, I can pull the straps tighter which makes the bike even narrower depending on the load. Found these bags great for camping as flex for the various shapes of the gear, as I use up some of the disposable stuff I just tighten the side straps narrowing the bags 😊

Thanks for the comment. I''m able to fold the ridged inserts flat and place them sideways in the bags FYI to achieve what you've described i.e. tightening the straps.

To gain entry into garage with that garage defender, simply pass chain around that thing. and attach to your car-truck and yank it up and out. It will bend and pull out. Very easy to defeat in moments really, IMO only...

Agree - I'm not saying my garage has the security of a vault, but it is a deterrent more than anything. We still have ours and still loving it. She's now done nearly 155k miles and still going strong. What model year have you got as the new model years have bigger batteries. My A3 8V model came from the factory with a 8.8kWh battery and i find that when we drive it to empty and charge it up to full, she takes about 6.5kWh...so Audi keep a bit at the bottom of the battery and the top to manage any battery degradation. The newer models have a 12.8kWh 'gross' battery capacity and a 10.4kWh usable so quite an upgrade... On a full charge (6.5kWh charged) driving it all the way to empty, we get up to 24 miles in summer (driving carefully) and 14 miles in winter (with the HVAC on). I tend to plug ours in as soon as I get back home most days but there will be times it's left empty or full a few days as we also have a Tesla Model S that does all the longer journeys. The reverse camera I bought off AliExpress...i think ours is now somewhat outdated and you can get versions that would allow e.g. Apply Carplay so I would probably recommend going for a more modern version now...but Aliexpress would be where I'd look to purchase it from. Hope that helps and hope you enjoy your A3 e-tron.

If so just pass a chain around it and yank it over and out with the car or truck. The design so close to the ground, rust and crud. Not looking good long term. Rain SPLASH is going to soak the lock. Reliability doubtful. Get some dirt and grit into the lock, it won't want to open. All this is IMO. I have no experience with defeating this lock.
@mybmwcevolution14154 ай бұрын
@Scottdowney4318 is right that rain can splash grit into the lock. About once a year I clean the lock out with a good dose of WD40 which sprays out any grit and keeps it in working order.

@mybmwcevolution14154 ай бұрын
For clarity it's a pre-authorisation fee that is released immediately after the charge session finishes although it is dependent on your own bank. If it takes longer than that, it is to do with your bank, not with a charge point operator. Some people question why it is the amount that it is...but with long range EVs now typically having 60-110kWh batteries, charge point operators ask for a pre-authorisation that is able to cover the top end to protect themselves from EV charging fraud. 100kWh x £0.75/kWh = £75. The charge point operators do not hang on to your money FYI which is what people often think.

@mybmwcevolution14154 ай бұрын
Great you've got yourself the ce04! Mine is still holding up great and don't notice any battery degradation to be honest. There is a way to check it with MotoScan i believe but I haven't got the app and dongle for that so haven't checked. Most modern EVs do not have significant degradation and the C Evo sits in that camp in my view. It's mostly the older EVs like the 2011-2024 Nissan Leafs, 2013-2018 Kia Sout EVs, etc that suffer badly e.g. 30%+ loss. We have had our Tesla Model S since 2015 and even that has over 92% left of its original capacity after 100k miles.
