A standard charging cable can be used with the ubitricity charger. A specific cable is not required. A PAYG service is available and is very competitive. The chargers are of a high quality and are well sign posted.

Bernard Magee That’s right. At the time of filming the majority of Ubitricity lamppost chargers did not yet have their ‘simple socket’ setup (bring a normal Type2) yet and still required the additional smart charge cable. Ubitricity have a great experience now...if they can become interoperable so we can use NewMotion, Plugsurfing, ChargeMap, etc and you don’t have to manually pay on their website each time that would really make them excellent. Thanks for highlighting the change.

Hey, I am working on a student project on EV charger design. Can you please ask him and share what is the big circle on the bottom of the charger?

That's great - and hope he is successful in further rolling these out too...converting our lamppost to EV charge points is a great way to get infrastructure in place in a cost-effective manner.

Cool, thanks for the vid, around 2019 they started rolling out these in Coventry as well, now there's a few closer to my home, and there are others dotted around the south east too. I have a leccy car and don't think the council will let me convert my front garden to a driveway AND allow a lowered kerb for legality, so this may be a viable option, unfortunately a bit more costly than home charging. For the time being Char.gy only charge 16.2p per Kwh in Coventry, as opposed to London, now 33p per Kwh, but I can't imagine that'll last - trying to drum up interest in it before they bump the prices, as I've walked past quite a few of these often, and I've NEVER seen one in use so far.

Do you have to remove and then put back the leg cover each time you charge?

Have you had any issues with your mains charger? My EvoP registered five charging faults in the last year and BMW have now replaced the charger, wondered if you’d had similar.

Hi Nevvyn - i had an issue on day 1 where the onboard charger got fried on my first public charge...it went back to BMW and after a month waiting on parts, they replaced the onboard charger. It was a pain but haven't had an issue since...my understanding is that this was a common issue previously but that the new onboard charger has fixed it.

Thanks. How long did it take to charge your bike and how far can you ride on one charge?
@mybmwcevolution14155 жыл бұрын
Landscape Architecture about 4 hours from empty and I can do 95 miles in the city with it riding like a loon! 😂

Looks great. How can I get one outside our house?

Hi Margaret - the best thing to do is to look on your council's website ... most of them have a section for electric charging. If they operate in your council, there is usually a form you can fill in to indicate that you wish to have one in your road. If your council doesn't have these yet, i would connect with your local labour/conservative/lib-deb represenative to see if they can help...i know a lady in Wandsworth who did this and they installed one pretty quickly.

Did you ever get the touring screen? 😎
@OVB_NL5 жыл бұрын
Afraid not - in town I actually prefer the low screen but on motorways and major A roads i do miss it 😄
