Hey, Xander. If you ever feel like playing Metroid: Zero Mission again and start complaining about there not being instant morphing and start comparing ZM to Dread again, I have an idea for a neat playthrough: Metroid: Zero Mission: Dread Mode. Essentially you start with 15 Missiles, Long Beam, Power Grip, and Hi-Jump Boots on Hard Mode. The first 3 items can easily be seen in gameplay when playing a new save file, but Hi-Jump is an exception, as it can't easily be seen. The only reasons I have for you starting with it is because when comparing jump heights between the 2D games, Dread's jump time is significantly longer than others, and because you can jump with Morph Ball right after obtaining it.

Best part about this mod is that it straight up plays like metroid, not like terraria. Even the movement mechanics are straight out of the metroid games.

When it tells the SA-X that a Metroid is dead, it should include the type, like "Alpha Metroid Killed" or "Zeta Metroid Killed"

The Ridely fight looks so easy, I could do it with only 2 E Tanks.

My personal route for M1 is to go to Norfair before Kraid or Ridley, as I find the screw attack and Wave beam REALLY helpful for those areas. But yeah this is probably the most entertaining M1 video I’ve seen, I’m not bored yay!

Freeze flame is such a fire hack I can’t- honestly such an amazing design idea, but sadly getting Varia suit sucks as you don’t need to go explore anymore anyways

NAH JK INSULTED KIRBYS ADVENTURE, if he actually goes and plays it it’s one of the least crappy NES games ever, no joke, the game holds up today. Dream land 1 (the first game) is probably the worst game in the series just because it’s short and no copy abilities. ALSO just putting it out there, Kirby’s Epic Yarn is easy for a Kirby game, you literally can’t die, but that’s the whole point. Clearly you guys haven’t 100% Kirby games as you haven’t done some of the actually challenging stuff like the arenas and challenge stage times. Btw I recommend you play Planet Robobot some day, it’s just the best one and most fans agree.

The fact that you missed that you can get the Varia suit in the tree area the first time was so saddening, you can get to it once you fight that boss after getting missiles Also love how you brought up how the haven’t made a new 2D suit since super, I was thinking of like the thermal visor turned into a suit or something, kinda like the dark visor from SM subversion

The best part of the video was totally when he said Freeze Flame was so good. I actually love the unique take that the hack has, but it does have one huge flaw, the varia suit, its super underwhelming and just a boring moment in a good hack. But yeah, I love your videos Xander, I think I've hopped on stream a couple times during your marathon of Metroid a while back too!

Two questions I had regarding these 1: What's the scanner meant for in the top left corner, is it like Pulse radar where it detects stray blocks, or does it reveal where the other player is? 2: What's the X-Power? Does it go up when the SA-X collects items and becomes stronger, what does it calculate if it does change anything about the combat
