Can you auto populate fields (in the Detail section) that come from the Header section? I have a combo box and a text field in the Form Header that I want to auto populate into a table when another field in the Detail section is updated or changed.

I followed your instructions but when I put the in form view, I get the error: control can't be edited, bound to autonumber ???

This is the only tutorial I found that worked. I could find other ways to auto populate the form fields, but the auto populated fields don't get entered into the table. But this works like a charm. Thank you!

can a button be added such as "Add" which on click would add the data in the table?

I have tried this method. It works fine. The only issue is that in the Form it shows EmpID but in the table it shows the actual no (Primary key) assigned to that particular EmpID. How do I solve it? Thanking you in advance.

Question for you. I’m not familiar with Access, but I think I might be able to use it to make work easier. I have a large list of employees at the company I work for who routinely need paperwork filled out and submitted for events. Is it possible for me to build a database, select the names of the members attending the event and then have a macro transfer the information needed into each document? My concern is the docs I’m looking to have auto populated are word and pdf files. Is this possible? If so, do you have a video giving a walkthrough of how to create something like this?

I have 3000+ employee information and prefer to type manually the employee ID (not select from the dropdown list) and upon entering the employee ID value, the other field such as names and location will automatically populate. is there a way to do this?
