Poor Rauno! Lol. He was hilarious on his response to the yoke height. Lots of experience, still dumb mistake. 😂

I love strongman but unfortunately it will always be a fringe sport because a) most commercial gyms don't have strongman equipment b) most people don't have the genetics for it and c) the team behind giants live have no idea how to commercialize it outside of the UK.

Good view bud. Great to see the new guys showing that they have deserved it for a long time

The bleachers and stadium seats suck because they killed my back and there's almost no vendors at WSM for Myrtle Beach 2023/24. With 2023, you had more access to the athletes, but with the bleachers and stadium seats, you were more separated from the athletes. However, the giant jumbo trons were a good addition in the open field section to watch. That being said, it's okay but nothing special.

It's really annoying that the WORLDS strongest man comp, is held in the us for so many years in a row.

Hooper didnt "repick" the conans, they were not allowed to do that once they had moved more than a meter with it, he only adjusted it in his arms by throwing it up a little, making it even more impressive.

Yeah once you go down you are down with conans. Hooper picked it wrong. His arm was slipping of so he shrugged it up to try and regrip. Unreal that he came second after that. Guys has no giveup in him@thestrongmanhistorian

About the axle, it wouldn't be a problem that it was less than a kg over the world record. But it would be a problem because the world record was set on fixed axle and this one was freely revolving. Not the same equipment, it shouldn't count as the same record.

Great breakdown. Seeing all the new guys is exciting, as they performed excellently. Great to see Tom win his 3rd title. I still think he has to raise his game against Hooper in the other shows though, as he's got absolutely no weakness.
@curvinh62895 күн бұрын
I think the groups were so good because the lineup was so weak on paper, they had luke stoltman in a top seat, luckily they put the 3 good rookies that made rhe final in different groups
@marcoghiotti71533 күн бұрын
This shows that more famous people on paper should not think their spot is secured because of their past fame. They must work really hard otherwise the less renowned athletes will take their spot away, and rightly so I must add. Plus, some people who had to withdraw this year are a little bit too prone to getting injured lately. Something is clearly not quite correct, either their overall health or training.
@dajsthesmith28605 күн бұрын
Hooper is a brilliant technician (same as Novikov) just look at Axel split-jerk and clever use of the rules in most competitions. Tom is just raw bigger and stronger (Shaw and Bjornsson) and cannot beat technicians with strength alone. If Tom can continue to improve his technique and fitness as we saw this year he has every chance of matching/beating Hooper on a regular basis.....What a great time to be a strongman fan....!
@simpleboy34575 күн бұрын
Tom does many things better than. Mitch axel is one of them.
@dajsthesmith28605 күн бұрын
Looking at both their techniques - yes Tom is what I would call a more strict traditional strongman in his approach showing the raw power of his pressing. But that's my point Hooper using the split-,jerk is able to match him without being as strong and in the case of reps sometimes beat him. Also look at someone like Novikov in the dumbbell surely he isn't as strong as Tom but the technique more than makes up for it in reps.

This was a great video and needed. Giants Live business strategy for the us needs a DAMN OVERHAUL! this amateur shit! Pay per view, live experience, advertising and marketing all need some major changes. Read the fucking room! Strongman is reaching new heights of popularity every year. Fans deserve a better experience and they are leaving dollars on floor. Rogue is banking it, even with their competition on KZbin. They also need to be more athletes from than North America and Europe! Don't be scared of more world competition! Giants Live need to up their GAME!

GL does have a PVP for their comps, GL staff only work for WSM in terms of the comp on the day so it does matter, because your confusing on who owns the comp, GL don't choose on what goes on behind the scenes at WSM it's IMG who own it
@petershortland4785 күн бұрын
Also in terms of more athletes than US and Europe's the issue is strongman isn't massively popular outside of those continents. Altho Australia and New Zealand are starting to come out more last 2 years. South Africa is slowly coming out too

Like John Kreese said it Karate Kid/Cobra Kai season 2: "Time to stop the ass kissing, and start the ass kicking" Tom Stoltman is over hyped for two big reasons, firstly he did not beat the big names at their peak like Hafthor, Hall, Shaw, Licis or Mateusz in the years 2016-2020, Secondly Tom have not yet even been close to winning the Arnold Classic the last 5 years. Including the Shaw Classic and Rogue invitational will not change currently.

Thoughts on the split and Jerk?. Hooper seems to be the guy that might end up changuing they way mayor organizations look at it. Personally, i feel divided, i´ve never been really ok with it cause it end up been a different thing than a push press, but also, in regards to the axel, it actually got into strongman with split and jerks, so i don´t know.
