PCb fault smack the black board relay and sometimes comes on brilliant video

I had one today. Leak above boiler. Repaired leaks re filled system. Started process to ignite boiler, zone valve energised, pump run, fan on but no attempt at ignition. Tested T2 and T4, 0.9 resistance Which from the fault finding chart says check tubes aren’t kinked ( they weren’t ) and/or replace air pressure switch. New air pressure switch arriving first thing tomorrow. Will see what happens in the Arvo.

I wonder how many people watched this vid, bought & replaced a new board & it didn't work... I know I did.

Hi George! Tried to comment on your other video about heating come on with the hot water. I have recently got this issue where when using my shower / any hot water tap, the two rads closest to the boiler heat up quickly. Long story short, I do need to replace the whole boiler regardless, but as it'll take some time for approval / new boiler installation, is it still safe to use when the 3 port valve is faulty? I still get nice hot showers, just noticed the rads get hot too. My CH & thermostat are off. I can live without heating while waiting for the new boiler but not without hot water! So would like to continue using it for the time being. Thank you.

I had this exact problem. Oddly the boiler would take up to 13 goes to ignite but once warm would run all day first strike, making this intermittent problem difficult to diagnose. So with your advice I fixed it in about 20mins with a second hand £30 unit from Ebay. Thankyou George you are a Supernova where a candle would do!

My boiler fires up really quick but does not stay on for long. Its fine for first 30 mins but, then I get 30secs of boiler on, followed by 2-3 mins of nothing, this repeats until the timer kicks in to shut it down. I wonder if this is the pcb or the boiler thermostat. Any ideas?

Brilliant advice.You know your trade. Our profile 60E had what sounded like a similar fault (to what you've described). A BAXI engineer came round, miss diagnosed the problem as being a gas valve fault and due to the boiler's age said that he couldn't get new parts. He recommended us getting a new boiler (£2000). I did ONE google search (after watching this video) and got the replacement PCB for £50 off E BAY, and fitted it myself. The boiler now sparks up first time like it was new! Thanks again.

£28 to buy Motherboard on Ebay. Fit 3 wires that clip in about 2 minutes. No need to pay £200. So much bullshit and no doubt a gas engineer will charge about £100 also for his time. I did it myself and its easy to do.
