curious, what happens when your up in attic and power goes out.
@blastworks
@blastworks 16 сағат бұрын
@@markroberts7941 I dunno where you are from or how bad the power grid is there but I think that runs about the same probability as winning the lottery. That being said, I was up there once drilling for security cameras and went through a wire, tripping the breaker. I pulled the lift platform up out of the rails and climbed down. Took about 3 minutes!

Loving this because I currently have the same exact Passport and color purchased used, non-working, and I'm whiffing a Pine-Sol mixture heating up in an ultrasonic cleaner with the carb parts in it, brainstorming how to get it to run in the next few steps.

Please don't fast forward on the disassembly and proceed to slow it down as you are counting "random hardware". It would be helpful to disassemble and name the parts and what they do. For instruction videos anyway.

I never considered that, but that's a great suggestion! I'll likely be doing something very similar soon, so I'll be sure to work through the teardown of at least one in detail and talk about all the bits and pieces as I do so.

found a hoist with wireless remote and 1130lb capacity. Replaced the over travel switch in the hoist. Ran a wire from the original switch to a micro switch that activates relative to the height of the hoist platform. 3d printed a bracket to hold the micro switch.

i can not obtain 12 gauge unistrut here, only 14 gauge, for a 400 lbs 9 foot stuff elevator, would this be a risk versus 12 gauge?
@blastworks
@blastworks 3 күн бұрын
Unfortunately I'm not a civil/mechanical engineer so I would not be able to give you an accurate answer on this. All I know is that in my application, most of the load is downward on the cable/hoist and supporting beams, and not pulling outward on the unistrut.

Does the rope you put in the cylinders need to be cotton? Can other rope materials be used?
@blastworks
@blastworks 3 күн бұрын
I'd stick to materials like cotton as, if any ends up staying in the cylinder for some reason, it will burn off with combustion. Anything like nylon would run the risk of melting and then you'd have a bad time.

I wonder if two hoists can be used in parallel. Only putting 50% strain on each, having a redundant hoist and having two cables. Probably very hard to keep these hoists running in sync.

Applause, friend! I'm working on what looks to be identical except the Buffalo flavor and with short column. Do you have any idea what range of years they were made in that configuration? I see others (later, I imagine) with a full belt guard and what looks like OEM switch location in front of the quill rather than right on the motor, and many (guessing earlier) with only four-step pulleys. I don't know if there were any differences between the CA ands the US models other than the name on the casting, but as I say, yours certainly looks like mine, and I'm curious as to how old. Thanks for the very useful videos!

Great videos. I rebuilt a 1971 Honda 70M a few years ago and enjoy the hell out of it but is one part I cannot figure out how to install. It"s called a chain case gasket and it's OEM part number is 40591041000. I's a rubber piece that somehow is at the front of the drive chain and protects either the drive chain or the frae from interference by the drive chain. This part was used on a number of C 70, C 90, C 100, etc models but I cannot find a diagram showing where or how this rubber gasket/seal/? is assembled. Any ideas?
