These are super helpful to someone like me who wanted a 82 passport c70 since I was a teenager. Finally got 2 free passports an 82 and 80! Though they are going to need a lot of work to get going, but I do not mind putting a lot of money and time into something that will be mine. These videos are so nice for a beginner like me :) Can't wait to see it finished!

My c70 neutral switch is good, relay is good. However I can’t start it with the start button. When it’s depress the neutral light fades a bit but no click from relay. If I short the relay like you with a screw driver it starts. You have any ideas for me what could be the issue

Have you tried opening up the starter control to see if there's anything wrong with the connectors inside? Sounds like it could be something like that, or something elsewhere along the harness between the button and the starter.

Hey man, first off great videos and content! I'm currently working on my 81 c70 passport and having some issues myself. Was wondering if I could pick your brain. Long story short, I have good spark, fuel is flowing, good compression, and electronics all work. It has a brand new carb, but I can not for the life of me get it to turn over. It'll idle for about 5 seconds sometimes, but most of the time it wont start at all. I roll started it down a hill and was able to get it going and cycle through gears, but it sputtered and back fired a ton while driving. Any help would be much appreciated man.

few things i picked up from your comments, to sum up the following is the list of facts from your story 1. good compression 2. got spark 3. carb is new 4. it starts but it drives bad so, if i were you i'd go with the following few directions 1. since you have good compression, check the valve clearances 2. got spark but runs bad, check the ignition timing (i.e, spark advancement, there are plenty of YT video teaching that) 3. got new carb, check if the bike is factory setting, (i.e. no pod filter, no aftermarket pipe, there no need to fiddle with the jet sizes) 4. if all above are checked and confirmed, see if there's vacuum leak on the intake manifold (i.e. spray a bit of brake cleaner at the mating surfaces) 5. finally, check your battery good luck
