Being you own one of these.. They come with a k66 tranny.. But from what I've read, it only drives up to 5.6 mph... Which is strange.. other tractors with same tranny do 6.6 to 7.2 mph.. That is the only reason why I have not jump on one of these..

Even though your terrain looks like the hills and slopes of West Virginia, I wasn't completely convinced it WAS West Virginia until I saw the beer can in the cup holder. I chose the Husqvarna TS 242XD because it is said to take on hills very well. But what about riding the small hills sideways (the SIDE of the machine is facing the bottom of the slope)? Does the machine handle sideways hill-driving well?
@atstepchild
@atstepchild Жыл бұрын
You should never take any mower / tractor / quad / UTV sideways on hills. That is a good way to roll them, especially if you were to slip a little, hit an unexpected bump, turn too quick, etc. Always attack hills up and down.

Howdy. I actually moved and sold it, since I no longer have grass. I did read that as well, but that was not under normal operating procedure. When you put attachments on the front and stress it to a certain point, I guess that's when it happens. I did feel very comfortable with the stability and structure as I drove it over my rocky and tough terrain.

Man , always use that throttle control in "full" rpm when moving and/or when blades engaged ... any lower rpm setting is used for starting , engine warm up , and engine COOL DOWN which you didn't do (let that engine idle for a few minutes at low rpm to cool down before turning off) ... yeah I know , reading the operator instruction guide isn't macho manly , lol ... also train your ear to know what full throttle rpm sounds and feels like (3600 rpm), so when your throttle cable stretches and needs adjustment to get it back to full throttle rpm you'll know it instead of unknowingly operating at reduced rpm (which stresses the engine) !! ... and ps., this ain't a hate comment , it's because I actually do care about you and your very fine piece of equipment and don't want you to experience any grief from premature engine failure ... always full throttle when operating , allow low rpm warm up after start and low rpm cool down before shut off ...

What it is, is on the transmission case is a steel lever that just simply gets pushed about 45 degrees. ( can be done by hand ) But Husqvarna uses a small electric ram to push the lever for you, so as its extending its drawing amperage away from the charging system, more than the generator can actually produce so it gets the rest by drawing off of the battery as well and when it reaches its full extended length it suddenly stops drawing all the electricity and you get a power surge wich is why the amp meter on your dash jumps. If/when this electric ram fails, just cut a hole in the back panel and do it by hand lol. ( fyi )

Thanks for sharing this video. This is a really nice machine. Looks like you got it in May this year so I'm wondering how the mowing season went with it. Also - can you confirm one thing - can the seat be adjusted forward-backward only by lifting it up and loosening that one bolt with the plastic handle, or is there a way to move it when you are sitting on the tractor? Thanks!

Clever and timely question. I have 16 hours on it, mowed about every 2 weeks, now it's leaf season. The only downside was having to level the deck again. It came level from the vendor, but something happened along the way that I had to level it again. It may have been because I got the deck snagged on a root a time or two and it popped free as I kept moving forward, so slight snags. I just noticed it as walking up to it on the driveway. I mow in dusty conditions, and with a K&N filter, I just got l blow it out with a leaf blower every mow, no issues. I would blow it out even with a normal filter, just my meticulous nature. I ran out of gas twice because they gauge is hard to read and easy to overlook. Starts up like a champ, runs like a champ, and a solid machine. I did seal the lights with sealant before I started mowing, definitely do that first to prevent dirt from getting in. Tires are excellent, seat is excellent. Engine is excellent. Deck is excellent.

Looks good man, I want one pretty bad now after seeing a few videos. Those things are basically a $7000 dollar garden tractor 50% off lol, nothing compares at the price point. Those transmissions have a lot of good reviews. Also If you want to go even further with protecting that there is two things you can do. one is get a can of ( LPS 1 ) and disconnect all of the electrical plugs one at a time and spray the LPS 1 in them, including the battery terminals and the back sides of any gagues/switches/meters/lights/alternator. That will insure its 100% waterproof, thats how guys water proof sensitive electronics in RC boats and planes by the way, because its safe on plastic wont eat it. The other product I really like is from AMSOIL, its the "Muddslinger" its kind of like a silicon lubricant, you spray it over any plastic/rubber surfaces and it protects them from the UV light (plastics will look brand new forever) as well as anywhere you don't want dirt/mudd to stick.. I got it for my dirt bike originally, inside the fenders and the bottom of the frame, after riding I just hose the bike off and its clean! zero scrubbing involved. Also works on/under the mower deck, just avoid the belt and pulleys is all. Hope that helps keep that thing nice for years ;) Who knows I might buy it used one day lol
