Doing a DIY demo all by yourself - then I agree with everything you say here. However if you get a ‘crew’ together to help you out with opinions based on individual knowledge like writing or audio engineering - then this entire video is moot. Your video is far too absolute Sir.
@vo-pro2 күн бұрын
So is your point. If the crew is just as unqualified, they’re just as useless as DIY.

Loved this video! Your advice on giving your best performance is key, just like how I feel about delivering the best emails. After switching to Filter Bounce, I have managed to keep my bounce rate under 1%. Real-time email verification has been crucial for my outreach strategy. If you are looking for reliable validation while cold emailing, definitely consider Filter Bounce.
@goutammondal93497 күн бұрын
Such an informative video! Your advice really mirrors my journey with cold emailing. Filter Bounce has been an essential tool for ensuring my emails land where they should. The accurate verification has improved my reputation significantly. If reducing bounce rates is a priority for you, give Filter Bounce a try.

Awesome video! It is so important to know your audience when sending cold emails. I have switched to Do You Mail recently, and it is made everything so much easier. Unlimited email sending from different domains means I can scale my outreach without limits. The automated DNS setup saves so much hassle. I really think you should explore Do You Mail for a smoother process in cold emailing.

Thanks for sharing these insights! Your point about the importance of clear communication hit home for me. Using Do You Mail has made my cold emailing process so efficient. The automatic SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration simplified my setup immensely. I highly suggest trying Do You Mail for anyone looking to enhance their outreach effectiveness.

It's a dellima for us just starting out. I am all for acting and VO training, however seem like most coaches want $200 to $250 per 1 hour session. I don't have that kind of money. Sure, I can afford to do 4 or 5, but not a years worth.
Take a look for group classes. They tend to be cheaper AND you get the benefit of seeing other people work. Also, ask if you can audit a class to see if the coach and their style is right for you.

This is the best video you have ever done because you wearing Baltimore Ravens gear! :) Didn't realize you are from Baltimore Paul. The best tool I've found for leadgen for voiceover is going all in with KZbin channels. For some reason most actors, voice actors, and creatives fight me on this when I suggest it.
@vo-pro13 күн бұрын
Yep, I get my Ravens/Orioles passions honestly. 😊 Are you talking Abou narrating other creators’ videos? The pushback may be because historically that work has been bottom of the barrel pay wise for narrators. That maybe is not your experience?
@motorchimp13 күн бұрын
@@vo-pro I meant that actors should be launching KZbin channels. Doesn't necessarily have to be to promote themselves. Could be another topic they are interested in. Video packaging is a lot more compelling. That's why you have this YT channel to promote your paid products. :)

@@motorchimp Well, as you know, a YT channel is a shit ton of work. So my question for you as a voice actor is have you seen enough revenue to justify the time spent? Does it outperform your direct marketing by the same metric?

Hello I'm from Poland and I can see the reason's why big corporation's would use AI and not care for human's that been used as voice , face , id .... Lets look at + in AI over human's : AI don't need to eat , sleep , be paid , go on break's , drink etc. And technology is unlimited ( technically ) . The really scary scenario is : The moment when some fool would give AI " free will " , the moment when " it " could recognize itself in mirror , and understood that is a creation that can learn faster , can be more beter than human and that it can log in or be connected to online many laptop's , smartphon's etc it will 100 % take advantege and take over. It give me the vibre of Terminator. CREEPY.

It's a video that hurts to listen to, but I think it lives up to the truth. I myself have recently suffered the ignorance of a video game dubbing studio for a poor DIY Voice Over Demo. This is not an easy industry and the competition is plenty and good. You have to be well prepared and play your cards very well. Without a doubt, a top DEMO should be a good "door opener" if you can afford it. There is another point to consider. A professional DEMO is fine but be very careful with the acoustic conditioning if you record from home. Are you going to offer the client the quality they have heard in your wonderful business card?... Greetings from Spain!

Truer words have never been spoken. I was able years ago to speak at some length with Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, Dee Bradley Baker, and Townsend Coleman at some length before a San Diego Comic Con panel discussion. (I know a Nickelodeon Studios animator, and she took me to the "back room" and introduced me to them.) They all could not have been more kind, more gracious, and more giving of their time. Indeed, I can safely say that I've never met a voice-over actor who I didn't wish could be my best friend. Thanks, Paul, for not breaking that amazing streak.
