I am sad to read the businesses in the northern end of Azusa are no longer serviced by the trains. After work, I would occasionally go up Vernon Avenue to check out that ancient Crossing and look at the teardrop bells. I think it was about several months ago when I saw that the old teardrops have been replaced With modern E bells. Those teardrops were probably in service for 60 years! Now it makes sense: the city of Azusa is planning to establish a dog park at the very end of the old Azusa industrial lead terminus, and I thought to myself “where the heck are they going to put it with the trains going there?” No more freight service to Azusa. Man, I would love to take home at segment of the old pacific electric rail as a souvenir. The Azuza industrial lead had much more rail traffic near the terminus. A quick search on the website Historical Aerials shows that there were many more tracks leading to the terminus.

I'll always be kicking myself for not filming on this line sooner. But with the last industry north of the 210 closing in 2020 I was too late. I think with the history involved with the PE materials on the line asking for some pieces would be worth a shot. I surely would be interested too. Thanks for watching!

What train station is that? Pasadena doesn’t have a Metrolink station but instead have a metro light rail station

I've been watching the progress on the LA Metro Rail A Line light rail extension through Glendora for the past few years now. Back in May was the first time I heard trains running on the freight right of way again. I'm surprised that the crossings are timed such that the locomotive has to nose all the way up to the intersection before activating. Is this common in other places?

No, it’s just a temporary measure until they configure the signaling for the LRT, for safety reasons

As you have a digital camera, you should turn off the “shutter” signal. Irritating when watching a video to hear stills being captured.

The clicking comes from my separate camera, a DSLR, which seems you don’t know about. The clicking sound is the mirror getting out of the way of the sensor to create the exposure and record the image. Quite simple for most to understand. 😁

@@PasadenaSubColin sadly all of the CSX Dash 8s were stored by End of March 2024, however 3 were reactivated very briefly last month, with the last one of those entering storage again a couple days ago
