The train must be so powerful to pull all those carriages along the track in America it's usually three trains or two trains it's so fascinating to see the freight trains i sometimes wonder if the UK might get some American trains and use the British track the trains in America must be so powerful it would be nice to see one in the UK

Is it me ,or do the Class 70s bear some kind of resemblance to the Class 58 locos with the cabs being bigger than the rest of the body?

I remember driving past it when it first opened all shiny bright and new. Those cooling towers and chimney could be seen from miles around. It stood out as a monument to a prosperous modern Britain for all to come. Huge coal reserves with oil and gas coming on atream securing our future for hundreds of years they said. Depending on your point of view the jury is still out on that one.

The first I knew of this station was filming as an air raid shelter for the film Battle of Britain, set in 1940 and filmed in 1968/9. I didn't realise it was closed to passengers much later. Thanks for posting. I'm afraid that my ancient creaking bones nowadays mean those stairs will be too much for me!

I needed to know why they couldn’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for most of the mainline Trains so that they could extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock which will include the class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign all of them into an overhead wire line trains and also make most of them into Five carriages per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Gardner 6LXC, Leyland 510, Cummins M11, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7 Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 10 Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into 11 carriages per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers? A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it even much more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 carriages per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 carriages per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Nice Video. For your answer from Oxford to Central London without using the Oxford Tube. Oxford to Reading on the X40. 127 from Reading to Maidenhead. 6 from Maidenhead to Slough. 81 from Slough to Hounslow West Underground Station. H91 from Hounslow West Underground Station to Hammersmith Bus Station (Upper Level I think) Then Route 9 from Hammersmith Bus Station to Trafalgar Square. The only problem is that the 127 may only be hourly or something as its not a frequent route but the other Routes are more frequent and you'd have a better chance of getting from Oxford to London that way if you decide to. I'm doing this from memory but I guess you could do Oxford > Aylesbury > Hemel Hempstead > Watford. You used to be able to do Aylesbury to Watford on the 500 but I don't think it runs anymore or they shortened the route. I once did London to Edinburgh by local bus and without travelling on express/limited stop buses. From where I lived, Day 1 - I got the 258 to Watford then Aylesbury > Oxford. Day 2 Oxford - Chipping Norton > Stratford Upon Avon > Redditch > Brum. Day 3 - Brum > Wolverhampton > Stafford > Newcastle Under Lyme > Biddulph > Macclesfield > Manchester. Day 4 - Manchester > Bolton > Preston > Lancaster > Lake District (Keswick perhaps). Day 5 - Lake District > Carlisle > Dumfries > Edinburgh. Something like that anyway. It was around 15 years ago so routes will have changed.
