I thought Russ was calling the plays because in the bowl game they kept saying as such. Also I figured he wasn’t because of the play calls not a lot of hitch routes and screens

I know Searcy entered the portal but with him not setting up any visits to other schools or anything yet, something in my gut is telling me he is gonna remain a Gator and the UMass edge we picked up is gonna Play the Pyburn role but be a better pass rusher than Pyburn was! If Searcy doesn’t come back I think we need to go after an elite pass rushing Edge but if Searcy comes back I think he will take the next step needed to become that elite pass rusher we all thought he could be! Plus I think we get Sapp back and I def think at least one of our Dlinemen end next season with double digit sacks!

Dallas Wilson is a great example of why focusing on players closer to your campus (especially for UF considering how much talent Is in that 250 mile radius, shot out to WMiles on that) is important. Cherry pick those kids from far away but like this 25 class, keep it loaded with locals. Oregon has to recruit nationally and will be ok with the loss of DWilson, but being that far away from home at the age of CFB players is tough

If we don't get an offensive coordinator that's aggressive that can use the clock well and count the number of men on the field going in on the field we're going to be away this nil that money and it ain't going to keep coming through again

I’m tired of hearing about an OC from the fans. It’s going on year 4, Napier isn’t making changes. Russ Calloway is the OC. If the players believe and trust Napier in what he’s doing then why can’t the fans? If it works it works, if not then move on to the next.

Actually, Rob Sale has been the OC since he was hired. If they don't change the offense the 2 year window with DJ will close with no titles.

@@smokey_gator_239 True. But adding Russ was like adding Ron Roberts to the defense. The offense doesn’t need to change. The execution just needs to be there. DJ has shown you this offense will work. And no knock to Badger and Dike but with better WR’s this offense will flourish under DJ. With Mertz teams didn’t respect the passing game, with Lag they have to.

@@thomasjohnson7802The offensive playbook definitely needs to change! There’s motion every play and we don’t even use the motion man for nothing so what’s the point of motion??? Two te sets but never call plays for the TEs! Baugh is nice so why not a screen to him every now and then?? You got Lagway and Baugh but no flea flickers??? I’m not a OC but I can go down the list on what’s wrong with this offense! We need a OC!

Florida is number 10 with 24 commits averaging 90.92. Tennessee is number 11 with 26 commits averaging 91.12. This makes zero sense to me. Zero!

It has to do with the way they calculate it. It could be that they have more recruits and a better average than us, but it depends on how each 3, 4, and 5 star is rated as far as points go.

@@notusedexer because higher rated players are weighted more in the 247 composite. For instance, a 4 star rated 100 will affect a class score more than a 4 star that’s ranked 300. I haven’t looked at their class but I would assume our 4 stars are rated higher than theirs

Not so fast on OC. It’s not about splashy names. Remember in ‘12- ‘13 we got Brent Pease. He did nothing for us. I would rather Billy just transfer full OC duties to Russ than him go hire some name coach. It’s about the right guy that can call plays.

Nah I’m gonna need a different scheme that actually uses 10 personnel and less 12 personnel. Got all these receivers but it won’t matter if they’re not on the field half the time

@@Chad13Napier runs an NFL type of offense. Most teams run 12 personnel with versatile TE’s. I mean I understand he can run some 4 or 5 wr sets but let’s see what happens with a capable QB who can fully run the offense. Mertz limited this offense because he couldn’t hit the deep ball. So let’s just see what happens. Billy’s gonna go down doing it his way. As long as the players believe in what he’s doing then why can’t the fans?

You act like we’re running 12 personnel with George Kittle and Travis Kelce, nah we got a bunch of tightends that scare nobody in the downfield passing game. Meanwhile you got Tank and Mizell, vertical threats who sit on the bench because of a head coach who insists on his trash scheme. And don’t make excuses about Mertz, he was hand picked by Napier himself

@ Tank plays behind Mizell who plays behind Wilson. The offense has been more downfield since DJ. With Mertz you saw more hitch routes, slant routes, screens. The screens will still be there but i rarely see those hitches and slants. And also opposing defenses know DJ can hit those deep shots and that’s what’s gonna open up for those TE’s, they don’t have to be Kelce or Kittle they just have to be consistent.
