You tube people like yourself have allowed this lady to do many things on my own, including run a new electrical outlet from an existing one, lay flooring, install a backsplash and much more! Tomorrow I will be going to get some drawer slides to replace those flimsy ones as I will be getting new countertops soon and it will be easier to do this without the countertops on. Thank you and all the other helpful professionals and do it yourselfers out there for taking the time to help us all out!

I bought a blind cabniet and can't for the love of God figure out out to remove the drawer to switch it to the other side. I found the tap and it the back it push over to get it off the track but yet it still won't come out. I'm getting very annoyed with it.

A nice, short video. Thanks. However, I've got some prints that are 24" by 32". I just bought some 1x2 framing wood but I'm wondering if I'd need a cross piece to accommodate the larger picture so there wouldn't be any sagging in the center on the long side. Thanks in adv.

How did you remove the old slider back brackets?

This method only works if you have access from the top. If you already have a counter installed, you're SOL.

Quick question, so when you have already installed the new drawer slides on top of the old drawer slides inside of the cabinet box how can you pull out the new guides without access from the top. I have granite counters already installed and wanted to follow your method.

Is the thickness of the sliders universal? I mangled the right side slider on my desk drawer a few months ago and want to replace it. Doubt I have the luxury of that three-quarter inch that you had to work with so if I can't find sliders of exactly the same thickness I don't think I will be able to do this repair.

I did it myself. I used Woodglut woodworking plans for this.

Speaking from the land of 2023, they now make such conversion kits! Or at least Home Depot does; my sister bought one and gave it to my father, and he successfully used it to convert a post-war built-in cabinet to a slide-out garbage can. Mind you, that was just the slab door, not a door and drawer front. And it only holds one tall kitchen garbage can, not two. Therefore, I think your design wins the contest. 😉 I would suggest that mounting the pull a lot lower so that you can pull it out with your toe would be even more convenient, so if you're handling raw meat you don't get salmonella germs on the handle when you open it, leading possible cross contamination of other kitchen surfaces. Not hatin', just sayin'.
