Hi there Beth, and thank you for the tutorial and pattern! Wanted to ask one thing - is it ok to use invisible decreases instead of sc2tog? Do I need to adjust the pattern? (I'm a total noob, only just picked up crochet again after a very long time since first trying it). The internet is really helpfully telling me that invisible decreases and sc2tog are not the same (yes, duh!) but can inv dec be used *instead of* sc2tog? And one more question - you say weight 4 yarn - does it matter if that's cotton or acrylic? Is it harder to do with cotton? Thank you again!
@BethsTrinketryАй бұрын
@@KesTheExquisite you can definitely use invisible decreases instead! The end result will still give you the same number of stitches, which is the most important part(: and you can totally also use cotton! I used acrylic because it’s what I had on hand, but you can use whatever yarn you want. You may just want to experiment with hook size if you end up going with a different weight yarn, but this little pattern is pretty forgiving and great for trying out different hook sizes and yarn weights since it’s so small(:
@KesTheExquisiteАй бұрын
@@BethsTrinketry Thank you so much - for this and for replying so quickly! I'm sticking to acrylic til I'm happy with it properly but I will definitely be giving cotton a go when I've built up some confidence. Thank you so much again

Tysm for the tutorial! He turned out sooo cute. I wanted to make him with felted yarn and used a size 4 hook but because of the weight of the yarn he ended up double the size of yours 😳 When I followed the pattern, his head ended up absolutely huge (literally bigger than my own lol) so I redid the head going up to 48 stitches max (same as the max width of the body) and he ended up looking much more proportional 😅 He turned out so big and soft I love him. So yeah if anyone wants to use thicker yarn be warned that the head will baloon to astronomical sizes

I jumped head first into making the head first (haha) and it turns out so cute. I actually find myself moderately enjoying making the hair even though it's a little tedious. Instead of sewing the hair down, I used fabric glue instead and it turns out really good. If i had more time, I would always choose to sew but alas, making the curls themselves already takes a lot of time. Thank you for the pattern! I'll work on the rest of the body once I have the necessary colors.

Tysm for actually making a free tutorial that i find cute, i loved the results so much and i also made my cate Casper <3 (This is actually a compliment but weird, sometimes i find it hard) but ty for also have a voice i enjoy, it makes it easier for me to understand and learn. The whole project js gets better for me! I have autism and idk if its cuz of that but its so easy for me to get annoyed by js a voice or action....and simply hate the person 😅 (dont worry i loved u and ur video <3)

I'm currently making this cat in dedication to the passing of my ginger tabby that I lost november 2023, but I see there are mistakes that you make, for starters you don't show how to sew all the limbs together which is what I'm currently having trouble with, yours looks so much better & neater than mine, you don't even show how to sew the ears on either which again I had trouble with, mine looks out of place, but I can't do anything about it now as they're sewn on now & I can't undo it, even the legs on my cat looks closer together than yours & I counted 6 rows from middle circle like you said 🤷🏻♀️, you should show how to assemble your cat together instead of telling us, it would help alot especially for beginners, I'm not a beginner as such as I've made other Amigarummi toys Edit: I'm currently now on the tail & to my surprise I see you never filmed it, which is not good, you even got me confused on how to do it let alone a beginner, you don't even show how to do stitches either which is another mistake, sorry i had to tell you these things, your cat is lovely but please show step by step instructions on how to do everything, thanks

I’ll be making this a second time for Astarion but first I’m going to use this pattern to make a Sweeney Todd doll. I’m going to see it later this month and Sutton Foster is a huge crocheter so I’ll see if I can ask them to give it to her. Small changes like hair color and adding suspenders and it works. Then this is so cute, I’ll come back and make Astarion too. 😀
