So u don't do 3.75 action figs no more? Or u move on to '6 cuz it's the "modern" thing to do?
@STRYDENTАй бұрын
I don't do anything because its "the modern thing to do." I always have collected much more than 4" figures and my reviews reflect that. These days its more a case of what I can talk about that folks want to engage in with me. I still collect Joytoy and Marauders as well as some Acid Rain...even some Fortnite from jazwares. There aren't as many 4" lines out there as there once were...Also, the prices on some of those figures...Jeezus. You may as well just spend that on a larger figure that comes with waaaay more stuff and is better engineered. You should check out my look back at the GI Joe Retaliation Joe Trooper. It was the basis for my custom team Fenris Company. I think you'll dig it.
@EversGreen-fy4vsАй бұрын
@@STRYDENT Tru dat. I checked all ur old stuff which is great. Now realized collecting isn't '4 anymore. Like u said the value is in the '6 which I never expected.
@STRYDENTАй бұрын
@@EversGreen-fy4vs Nahh...Collect what works for YOU. Currently, what I'm talking about in some of these recent videos, including my toy line, are 6". Down the line, I plan on doing some 4" scale lines. I always encourage folks to do THEIR OWN thing. That's what's missing from the hobby these days. Folks listen to the wrong folks and miss out on developing the ability to discern what makes for an objectively great figure. The same goes for value. Make sure you always just collect what works for you and be objective.
@STRYDENTАй бұрын
@@EversGreen-fy4vs Also, keep in mind that what you see online here in the US on youtube is just what's popular here in the US. The rest of the world doesn't ride trends as hard as the US so many companies deliver products at several scales. Always take the standard opinions of "Influencers" with a grain of salt. They're paid to influence you. The regular Joes tell it like it is...especially the ones not trying to be influencers. I've always been speaking to the regular Joes.

@@STRYDENT Tru dat creativity and vision is truly lacking. However 4' isn't as well rounded since u first started so I get it. I mean it can be done but like how u used to make it, your own squads or secular groups of factions were so dope. Its not seen anymore.

Not a Canon story. Lots of bad writers wrote self insert stories where either they wrote supes or bats to be themselves and just wrote lame ass high-school drama. IN CANON, Superman originally showed up in Metropolis as an adult. Batman had already been operating in Gotham for a few years. Think about it...they are about the same age. Bruce lost his parents at age 10. Then, in his teens, he traveled the world training to return to Gotham with the skills needed to become Batman. Clark was growing up having a fairly normal upbringing in Smallville during the same time. There's no reason to try and change that. It makes no sense.

@@nohoon100 Honestly, I'm tired. Its the same song and dance with soooo much of this stuff. I'm not a fan of former Iron Man now playing Doom. He needs to be a Shakespearian actor...also needs to be tall. Its a hail mary from Marvel that'll probably work because the Muggles love their slop. As for the Caped Crusader...I haven't watched it yet. I will possibly watch it eventually.

I don't love the head sculpt on the Nightwing figure, he looks almost like he's about to be Jokerized, lol, but the rest of that figure is cool. I LOVE that Black Manta. I think it's one of the best they've done period. Great Supes in that line as well. Captain Cold is one I think I will grab soon. He also looks great.

Man I wanted that Lawson set so badly, but the one time I saw it I couldn't pull the trigger over the cost. I am with you on Santoulouco being the BEST TMNT artist, but Lawson is possibly my favorite because of the nostalgic pull his designs have over me. Love the basic execution, but I just can't justify at this point, especially with the secondary market prices being what they are. Great video, appreciate your takes man.

Strident that Gung-ho is the old salty Marine version from the 1980s. So this is something that only a Marine would actually appreciate…..the old Marine Corps camouflage utility uniform would turn salty from doing Marine Corps training in the ocean and jungles of Thailand and Okinawa as well as other countries. So back then Marines would have double sets of cammies one inspection ready and the rest for training and deployment. Just look at some old Marine pictures on the internet of hard working Marines in faded salty camouflage uniforms. Semper Fi!

I know the history. I come from a military family. My grandfather was a Harlem Hellfighter. I was just referring to issues with the color from a modernization standpoint when standing alongside the POC line and other modernized character designs. Almost all the old joes are based on various military stereotypes and ideas. Its why sooo many of us still love the line 40+ years later.

I decided to make the Retaliation Jinx in my G.I. Joe display as my non movie Jinx as I made my own movie depiction inspired custom of her based on how she would've looked had not only she first appeared in Rise of Cobra, but if she was played by Rinko Kikuchi and I recently ordered the fully painted 1:18 scale Rinko Kikuchi head from Spartan118 Customs to make my dream cast come true in action figure form like my own movie depiction customs such as Christian Bale as Duke and Jensen Ackles as Flint and the next customs I plan to make are Cobie Smulders as Lady Jaye and Idris Elba as Sgt Stalker, the latter based on how i would've depicted Sgt Stalker had he ever appeared in the movies played by Idris Elba, who was originally my choice for Roadblock until you Strydent suggested Terry Crews for Roadblock as he would definitely fit perfectly for the role.
