Really nice and well planned. I'm looking for inspiration for my sewing room makeover so I'll probably pinch some of your ideas.😂 Psst......I know what you mean about the smell of those green cutting mats! 🤭It does fade tho. 🙂

I know this is a real old video now but I have to say I have made the Butterick 6018 dress twice now and love how it fits and flares out. I'd love to find the original and make that up too to see how it compares though!

I am wondering if there is a thin double-sided tape that is strong enough to to keep the warped edges down? Thx for the interesting tour. Handsome shop. Butcher block, eh? Great idea! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙂 Btw . . . Luv the colored lights. I love lights, too. 😁
@SewcalSewcialite4 ай бұрын
Luckily those edges finally settled! But the double sided tape is a good idea 🙂

I made this hat also. It was my first project and I wish I had watched this video before. I did the piping and don't particularly care for it. Like you I agree the front brim is too short. I wish I had of had a suggestion to increase. I don't have the pattern or any material to match.

I got that 3 piece cutting mat and you were right about the metal connectors - they caught fabric and would fly off. So I removed those connectors and use painting tape on the back to keep them together. Then the only problem is the seam - when you rotary cut over them there are times where just one thread won't cut because it's right over the seam.
@SewcalSewcialite4 ай бұрын
It was a good idea in theory and a money saving option to have three pieces. But alas, for cutting fabric it’s not ideal. Thanks for watching!

Lovely comprehensive tutorial! Your white one looks lovely. You’ve inspired me to make one next. I have been scratching my head, trying to work the sleeve pleats out. I just realised i’ve been stuck in a loop of astounding stupidity! In the worlds biggest DUH! moment, i just realised the 3/4 sleeves only have two pleats. No wonder the notches were ’wrong’. 😂. Gawd, what an idiot. That’s what i get for not reading the instructions properly! 🙄🤦🏼♀️🤣 Thank goodness for people like yourselves who go to the effort to make these tutorials.

Hi there! I know my comment is late, but I finally splurged on a boiler iron. I did like the gravity feed iron (great for the price point), but having to hang it was a bit cumbersome but workable 🙂

Very good sewing room tour! I'm excited that I'll be able to set up a dedicated sewing/craft room in my new home in the next few months, so I've been scouring YT sewing channels for tour vlogs. I really like what you did with your room. The added overhead lighting is not something generally shown on sewing room tours, and I appreciate that you included that. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic video review. I have the 3000IS and their heated vac/blower ironing board 500VB. I really love it, it is a game-changer. When I looked, it was between this set-up, the Laurastar, and the Miele. Glad that I chose the Reliable. On another note, your detailed description saved me a tech call to Reliable Support. I couldn't get the boiler to turn on and the low water light was on after a refill of 50/50 water. I didn't even think about the reset button under the screw on/off cap as it is not really described that you must do this each time you refill the tank! LOL, Much thanks again.

What are the rough dimensions of your room? The space I am setting up is a basement utility room with open space of 12' x 16'. I love the way you've stored various items, there's a pleasant continuity & flow. Will take some of your ideas and put them to use as I set up my own craft room. IKEA is a crafters friend. Well done and Thank You for putting your mind to this formidable task!

Great tour of your design space. Love the idea for holding your power strip up off the floor. You put great thought into the best use of your square footage. Since kitty loves to sleep and look out of the window, create a shelf space by using L-brackets and a piece of wood in a half circle therefore you won’t have any sharp edges to bump into and your storage containers can go back under your cutting space.

Love that cutting table. Is the butcher block top secured to the drawers below? If its not secure, do you feel that its sturdy enough? (is it wobbly, etc.) I am currently designing my craft room and I want to include a cutting table just like yours. Thanks.

It's one of those kids chen counter tables from IKEA, basically butcher block. I have some brackets attached to the dresser and the table to make it sturdy 😀
