Thank you for sharing the skirt you made. It's very cute. Great fabric choice. I really like the red crepe. I think it will be stunning on you. Thanks for the review if the underwear and tips for fabric. Your dress form is amazing. What a wonderful tool. I am excited to see your coat in progress. Great channel. Jen sent me.👋 God bless.💖

Welcome! Thank you for watching ❤️ I always thought I couldn't wear red for some reason, but here I am, making a red dress and a reddish coat 🙂 Can't wait to share!

I'm so glad you are doing Friday Sews. They are becoming my favorite type of sewing videos because of the friendly sewing/life chats. It's like a visit from a sewing friend. You really packed a lot of interesting things into this video. I loved seeing the dress form and your beautiful skirt and fabrics. Good luck with the coat class. Kenneth King is wonderful. Hope to see you again next week! Happy sewing.

Thank you so much ❤️ I'm looking forward to a regular schedule of sewing updates. I'm very excited to take a live class with Kenneth, even if it's on Zoom. Happy Sewing ✂️🧵🪡

I used to hate fit and flare dresses because they highlighted the widest part of my body. Then I realized that, at 5'1", all fit and flare dresses hit below my natural waist. Love sewing them now!

That's awesome! Do you have any favorite fit and flare dress patterns?

You've reminded me that I need some colored elastic to make bralettes! And hey, I can't count the times I did Friday "Reads" on Saturday when I was doing my audiobook channel. And sometimes editing and filming takes longer than I thought and things don't get uploaded till after midnight on Fridays. So all of that to say no worries, Friday Sews on Saturday totally works. That little skirt is adorable. Really nice red and way to go out of your comfort zone! That truly is going to look fabulous. Everyone is making underwear lately! I've gotta give that a try - ❤️

Thank you! I had some technical issues with the editing/saving)upload process so it came out even later than expected. Thank you for encouraging me to join in on the fun ❤️🧵

a rethink about cotton for panties is that cotton does breathe but it also holds onto dampness that happens from exercise or hot flashes. This is why you find that exercise wear and fabrics for making active wear as well as the new to the market nighties for hot flashes (hot flashers?) is made from spandex with polyester or bamboo as opposed to 100% cotton. Nylon does not breathe and years ago it was used for slips and undies which is probably why the recommendation was made to using cotton only for panties or at least the crotch areas, but for some of us women there are better choices than 100% cotton.

I definitely agree with you. Generally speaking, cotton is a good choice. However, everyone's body is different as are our lifestyles. That's the great thing about sewing our own clothes, we can experiment with what works for us. 4/5 ready-to-wear undies I checked had a 100% cotton gusset. One pair made I just used the Lyocell fabric too and I've had no issues. I'm a big fan of bamboo 🎍
