Borg is my favorite of all time with Sampras a distant second as far as me being a fan. Interesting you have Borg ahead of Sampras. Even the though Borg is my favorite, I don't know if I agree. Sampras was unbelievably dominant when he was on top, and just mopped the floor with everything in his path. He has a lot more majors than Borg, but Borg never played the Australian and reached the US final 4 times, and retired when he was 26. I like seeing Borg that high on the list, but I can't decide. Maybe there will be other comments about this. Interesting.

You make some great points! For me I just felt like when Borg was at his best, he was more unstoppable than Sampras. Yes, Sampras was an incredible champion - we're nitpicking at this point - but I felt like Borg's prime was that much better than Sampras, even though Pete has better overall numbers/longevity

If you are ever considering learning gaa, just know that four steps and bounce four steps and solo doesn't mean you only take two steps on each foot. You can technically do that, but if you take four steps on each foot so eight steps really, it'll get you alot farther down the pitch because you're not allowed take two bounces in a row

pretty good video. However he still got the "international thingy" wrong. Which is understandable because the US often or most of the time doesn't have that. ok, FIFA World Cup but also UEFA champions League and the UEFA Europa League are ALL international (btw. both names are misleading because they are tournaments stretched across several month but NOT a league). FIFA is a worldwide international tournament for NATIONAL teams. meaning England may face Germany or Spain, or Italy may battle it out with The Netherlands or Croatia etc. etc. UEFA champions League and the UEFA Europa League are are European wide international tournament for CLUB teams meaning English Premier League teams will face teams from France' Ligue 1, Spain's LaLiga, Germany's Bundeliga, or Italy's Serie A etc. other continental confederations like cocacaf holds similar club and country tournaments. To summerise: There are international club tournaments involving clubs and international tournaments involving national teams. On top of that there are qualifications for the international tournaments. They are usually spread across several month before a tournament and are often decided in small groups of 4 or 5 countries in a table format with one away and one home match with theeach of the 3 or 4 other participants of the group. As this video is 5 years old I like to mention another great video of an American football lover: (European) Soccer Explained for Americans Bw. I don't mind at all if you guys prefer to call the beautiful game soccer. the term soccer was in fact "invented" in Oxford, England a long time ago I thing 150 years or so. The motive: to clarify that soccer is NOT rugger aka Rugby. As far as I know the upper class Oxford student took soccer from asocciation football. The term soccer became popular in Ireland I read but not so much in England. The brits till this day have the FA the official Football Association. I The English FA cup, the elimination style tournament during each season is the oldest tournament of all worldwide. greetings from a fan of the Bundesliga

With the 1-and-Done policy in place, the lottery is outdated. You can’t expect NBA franchises to survive by selecting from a larger pool of unproven commodities. Sure, you’re going to have one offs like Wemby, but you’re going to have a TON of James Wiseman and Killian Hayes types now as well. The lottery needs to go away forever in favor of selecting via a traditional formula of worst team picking first. Stop with the silliness of having a game show like event and get down to the business of helping make really bad teams competitive. This isn’t 1985 when Pat Ewing entered the league as a proven college player with championship pedigree. Nowadays it’s like pulling a name out of a hat for players that will take 4 to 5 years to develop mentally and physically.

How come there is a leagues cup in the concacaf champions cup exists? Is one more important than the other?
@Mandofreshco27 күн бұрын
concacaf champions cup is the equivalent of the uefa champions league. concacaf champions cup has changed its name a few times for example it used to be called the concacaf champions league. leagues cup is not really important since it’s new and it’s first official year was 2023. leagues cup was made by the mls and invites certain mexican league clubs to the tournament. concacaf has nothing to do with leagues cup and they don’t govern it.

I think the NWSL should have a new rule instead of a 1-1 draw go to Extra time to win games I am tired of these boring ties. In regular season games it should be like hockey. But hockey is different than soccer. generally speaking I think the league should have extra OT and whoever scores first wins. That should be a new rule in women soccer.

Some facts about Libertadores: - The champion is qualified to play the Fifa Club World Cup, which, as this video said, it's a smaller tournament with all the Fifa continental champions, but for South Americans, this is the ultimate challenge a team can face it, it's more important than the Libertadores itself, as the South American club, to be crowned champion of the Fifa Club World Cup, it has to defeat the actual Uefa Champions League champion. - Because Brazil is the main country in the continent, historically, Conmebol has a rule that a Brazilian can't be the president of the Conmebol. It led to, historically, Conmebol having a prejudice against Brazilian teams, making arrangements to make the tournament harder for Brazilians, and easier to other countries (specially Argentina). Some examples of Conmebol bias: Look for the referee errors on 2000 edition finals (Boca juniors-ARG x Palmeiras-BRA), 2001 semi-finals (again, Boca Juniors-ARG x Palmeiras-BRA), 2013 edition (Boca Juniors-ARG x Corinthians-Bra on round of 16), in 2018, Santos-BRA, Boca Juniors-ARG and River Plate-ARG had used irregular players on some matches, Santos were disqualified, while Boca and River weren't punished, guess who made to the finals? Yes, Boca and River. There's lots more of stories like this, it's on the internet for anyone to watch. - The biggest winner is Independiente-ARG, with 7 titles. Next is Boca Juniors-ARG with 6 titles. Between the Brazilian clubs, the biggest winners are Palmeiras, São Paulo, Grêmio, Flamengo and Santos with 3 titles each. - Until the 90's, the tournament was brutal. The teams would play very violently, visitors were threatened by the local police, local supporters, etc. Brazilian teams hated to play the Libertadores, often sending their B-Teams. After São Paulo won both 1992 and 1993 tournaments, they started to brag about it in Brazil (they weren't the first Brazilian to won the tournament, but they're the first to make full of themselves for winning), which led other brazilian teams to start to focus more seriously to win the tournament. Before, the tournament weren't broadcasted in Brazil, but it started to popularize and drag everyones attention to the tournament. Today is considered in Brazil, the second more important tournament in the season, only behind the Fifa Club World Championship. - Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, have stadiums much above the sea-level (2500+ meters), teams from other countries always suffer a lot to play in these places, with players often having to go to the sidelines of the field to use oxygen masks. It makes the weak local teams even the gap against the visitors, it's not rare for a Bolivian or Peruvian team to beat an Argentine or Brazilian team. They tried to stop these games in high altitude, Fifa accepted the complaining by forbidden games above the height of 2500+, but Bolivian, Peruvian federations argued and Fifa gave up on forbidden games on this heights.

I’d think the USL’s end goal is to provide a pipeline for their clubs to promote into MLS since they can’t be the top league themselves. If they implement pro/rel in their leagues they might accomplish their end goal by being absorbed by the MLS and Next Pro. NISA has to quickly get on either the MLS or USL train because if not their clubs will die out.
