Why? It’s horribly deformed. Can you get it out? Yes, but how much worse can it get. Finding parts? I wouldn’t have a clue 😂 but I bet it’s not easy and it’s going to be expensive. Cars like this are cool because they decided to over engineer everything to gain every possible hp they could, but you need an engineering degree to understand them 😂🤣🤷♂️ best of luck. Enjoying the journey

Wtf dude, quit yer crying! Could be an ugly situation, especially with an interference engine if the valve stuck and the piston has hit it, and maybe does on every tdc. If not, it shouldn't be too difficult to pull the valve cover and see exactly what's going on, stick a scope down that plug hole and take a good look to assess the damage, see if the valve is bent or whatever. If the valve is damaged and it's particularly spendy and hard to get, you may be able to have it straightened at a good machine shop, and provided it didn't break a valve guide or a piston you could still be okay.

Just stumbled across this vid, too bad I didn't see it when you started the project. I grew up around several old Triumph TR's, a Spitfire, and a couple old MG's, among lots of other machines we bought, sold, repaired, and modified back in the day. You're talking here about how you will cover the width of the wheelbase with flares, extending the fenders with the ones off your parts car, or whatever, but there would have been a much better way to approach the thing, considering it no longer has any real value as a classic TR3 anyway... I would have had everything measured out and mapped before attempting to fit the body the first time, then split the body right up the center and widened the whole thing, filling the center by about 6" to give it a wider cockpit and make it much more comfortable to drive (I remember well), and still adding some nice, tastefully sized fender flares, so as not to make it look totally bastardized in the end.

Your latest video is 5 months old. Are you coming back again? You keep leaving us. I watch Derek save that car and now it's been interesting watching you try to bring it back to life in a more finished way. Hope to see more in the near future. Good videos

Wheel offset; counterintuitive but, positive is what your Mercedes has, negative offset places the centers of the rims closer to their inner edges, making the track wider.

This is a very sad situation someone obviously did Earl Scheib's job on this Corvette as far as repainting it don't allow amateurs to do any kind of restoration on a classic beautiful car like this it's not worth it if you're going to do it do it right as far as paint restorations are concerned
