As a 24 year hearing this is very relevant. 20 year olds need to unite and build each other and up. Whenever some messes up be forgiving and giving .

Pandering to a cuddled generation. The only people who have wealth at a younger age are those who earned it or those who inherited it. He's arguing that those who've worked and accumulated wealth for their entire lives have too much?

I began working at 18, strived and grew my portfolio to 600k by 33. Recently, lost over 30% and want to mitigate risks. Also, planning to buy a home soon and want my portfolio to grow to a 7-figure ball park so i can retire in 9 years.. What should I do?

IMO, Adding JEPI and JEPQ is smart for retirement. As for staying committed to low-risk investments, it's all about balancing your risk tolerance with your long-term goals.

De-risk your portfolio, shore up your core holdings, and take some profits while balancing your portfolio allocations. I’d also suggest you go with a managed portfolio, but even those don’t perform so well, so it’s best you reach out to a proper fiduciary to guide you, that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 80% capital growth minus dividends.

And unlike when the 80 years olds were 25, today's 25 year olds don't have a career future with job stability. Today to advance in their career, the rule is change employer and position every 3 years. That may mean moving to another state. Which differs from 40 years in the same company and location progressing from position to position. Lack of stability drains mental and emotional energy.

The government puts it's boot on private industry and the individual to control inflation. Then it creates inflation through wild deficit spending. What better way to break the economy and drag the country into communism.

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Making money is not the same as keeping it there is a reason why investments aren't well taught in schools, the examples you gave are well stationed, the market crisis gave me my first millions, people shy away from hard times, I embrace them.. well at least my advisor does lol.

In Canada, single people can't deduct squat. We can only deduct medical expenses, if your expenses exceeds 3% of your net income, charitable, or political donations, and contributions to an RRSP, which is equivalent to your IRA. The best thing our government did for us, is come up with the TFSA, as a savings vehicle which is equivalent to your Roth IRA, but you have to have the money to put into it, to take advantage of it,in the first place.

His primary falsehood, which I think is a distorted worldview rather than a lie, is that wealth is being transferred FROM the young TO the old, and that the old are hoarding wealth. For one, you're not born with a full pocketbook. You start out naked and financially worthless. Everything you have and are belongs to your parents. A big issue is that the parents and grandparents have become selfish and greedy, and Galloway gets that part- and most everything else in this interview- right. The wealth isn't being transferred properly from the old to the young, but rather than being hoarded, it's being wasted by the old. For example, instead of selling their home to a grandchild, an elder is getting conned into a reverse mortgage so they can piddle away the wealth they've been building over the last 30+ years. That house gets sold to an investment firm that then RENTS the house to someone else's grandchild. Subscriptions have extremely low ROI, so the young renter can't seem to get ahead. Another is investing. Parents got spoon-fed a worldview that the government is a god, and that this god cares for you and will take care of you. Investments have also become more automatic and hands-off with 401and 457 accounts, managed by employers. Then we have younger employees, who job-hop, and cash out those accounts to get a few extra bucks between jobs. Younger people need to be taught to invest in a multi-faceted and consistent way - stocks, bonds, ETFs, and precious metals (real metal, not paper IOUs). I wonder what percent of parents have custodial investment accounts for their minor children? It used to be expensive and difficult to invest in the markets, but it's never been easier and cheaper than now, with an eTrade, SoFi, or Robinhood account - so why aren't young people earning an APY, but instead just spending an APR?

If your a young man in America. Avoid women until your wealthy. I'm can't stress this enough. Every man pays so if your getting some free or easy lays instead of working out where you'd like to be by 35-40 your post nut clarity is gonna come in two waves. The first when you finish and realize you don't really like this girl. the second when you hit 30 and realize you could of used that time making the right moves to find your wealth and your broke with the memories of some bust downs saggy waggies.

Prof G makes a lot of good points but also says some wacky shit. E.g. “a university has to grow its admission rate as fast as population growth” why? There are new universities popping up all the time. “My taxes should be higher” well pay more taxes brother, go ahead. He’s bringing up good points but his solutions are a little to California-esque for the rest of us.

I'm not so sure I agree 100% with one of his final points about how Americans only hate their country because of social media and things. To me, it seems like a lot of the problems this country faces are unique because they're rooted in culture (crime and gang culture worship in media, people trying to emulate what they see and as a result making neighborhoods worse etc.) It's a culture problem, seriously.
