Since the tee looked like it was designed by a computer, I had no idea how or if you could replicate that cool oil slick composition. I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty this came out! Wishing you good health.

Thank you! It was a challenge for sure and replicating designs from graphics with paint rarely works out. My health improved quite quickly once I recognized the symptoms and was able to mitigate the fumes.

Well Done for discussing your health issues. I suffer from COPD and yet my main interests are woodworking and fluid art. I have always been astonished that no one discusses the health hazards of blowing out paint with the mouth or a straw. Any house painter would be horrified to see this as people are sucking in paint particles and, worst still, glue, floetrol , varnish and God knows what. No DIY'er would dream of doing this. Also using a spinner without protection is crazy. The air brushing community would would have all kinds of equipment to mitigate the particles of paint floating around. My solution is to wear a top quality respirator which I use for woodworking, household painting and woodworking. When mixing paints for pour I wear the respirator and for all my pours I work in my garage with the doors fully open. I find I can do all these things without adverse effects and I can honestly say I have not smelt paint or sawdust in over 10 years. I would have no problem doing a bloom using a respiratior. Ok the mouth blowing and the straws are no nos but the little blowers seem to work. I have done much worse in DIY projects. My only problem would be a lack of Talent - I still struggle with Flip Cups! Look after yourself keep producing amazing art.

Lovely results. Are you correct when you say the base coat is 1 part paint to 7 medium and 2 water? Is the paint Amsterdam Standard Titanium White ?
@vegasmainiac77455 күн бұрын
Thank you and yes, those measurements are correct
@josephbloggs24774 күн бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I have done quite a few of these and got good results but I use a base coat(always black) mixed in the same ratio as the pearl paints. However I find the tilting is very sluggish particularly with Liquitex pouring medium. A lot of mine get sharp and "angry" looking as I have to force the tilt to the edges too much. I am going to try with your ratios which I think might resolve this. Thanks again.

Beautiful! I have a similar pillow colour paint and I was debating with myself whether to use reds or pinks. Is the CA rose gold? Tri-art?
@vegasmainiac77456 күн бұрын
Thank you🩷 the pillow color is hard to use. It doesn't like cool colors much. Yes the ca is rose gold but custom not tri-art. I used amsterdam light gold with a couple drops of golden fluid magenta

Great info in here. The BEHR always seems more vibrant when mixed, but you’re right about the dry results being what matters. I always get wonky cells with DyNasty so I’ve only used it a few times, but the colors are vibrant and it has a great shine. Awesome the JoSonja added kept the cell structure and made them more like bloom cells. So the 3300 + Triple Thick was the last one? Or you mixed the Spec one with the Triple Thick?
@vegasmainiac774519 күн бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I mixed triple thick with spec right and the results cracked like crazy. Spec Right is spec wrong for bloomers! When I'm out of 8300 I'll go back to 3300 until something better comes along that doesn't require a 2nd mortgage just to paint!

I'm sorry to hear that, it's definitely no fun to have lung problems. I wouldn't recommend using any housepaint in your home with COPD. I do have few videos you can watch where I explain my no housepaint bloom recipe and techniques. If you're able to use acrylic paints and mediums, you'd be able to use that recipe.
