Thank you for the video it was great to see inside. My grandmother was one of the bargees who transported the building materials out to create both forts, now I know what they helped to create.

We visited Coleby Grange on a warm summer evening and 2009 and my wife who is sensitive said she didn't pick up on the supposed airman who haunted the roof but at the stairs she said she felt a neck pain, as we prepared to leave we met some more people who were preparing to carry out an investigation and when I told them of what my wife had experienced at the stairs they confirmed that an airman had fallen to his death on the stairs and broke his neck. That would give you confirmation of why you also experienced activity in the stairs area. Keep up the good work and thank you for not playing music and just keeping with the sounds of your natural surroundings.

The stories around that place are quiet disturbing, some are very bizarre. I get why the farmers fed up with folks hes had to put up with a lot. Everything from nutters using it to worship satan and nailing dogs to crosses, to people going missing up round there and the subsequent police involvement. I can see why he left it to rot, you head up there after dark and for whatever reason the atmosphere is thick with unease, really quiet oppressive. I wouldnt want to live up there for sure. Great video.

Believe me. There's nothing I would like to see more than the last survivor of its type fully restored. Any aircraft restoration is costly and time-consuming. But a Beverley? A gargantuan task. But - and ultimately - unless this restoration is under cover, then it's wasted effort and cash. The elements will have the final say and it will end up like Hendon's example. It was hard enough hangaring them when they were in service. Now? I wish everyone luck with this odyssey and sincerely hope everyones' efforts aren't wasted and confounded by the usual curses of aircraft preservation: cost... and weather.

I admire folk who are not daunted by such a huge and challenging task. I wish them every success. When I was a child living in Abingdon Beverleys were a common sight flying around on parachutist training flights. Then my family moved a few miles away and not far from Benson and then the skies were then filled with Argosies instead.

I have happy memories of parachuting from the Beverley in UK, Denmark and France during the early 1960's and this aircraft together with the Hastings both were capable of relatively low speeds for parachuting which enabled textbook openings which obviated twists of the rigging. But piston engines meant slower aircraft and longer flight times and being single skinned aircraft, noisy! It is forever to the shame of the Royal Air Force Museum that they ditched the Beverly!

Hello, your video of the #solwayaviationmuseum dismantling the Xb259 is excellent!❤ I noticed you've previously made videos of the fort using a drone. It would have been wonderful if you had included some new footage in your video. Is there any reason you hadn't?

@mrwhite4780 thank you 😊 I would have included drone footage but my drone no longer work's. Would have been great to get new footage though. I'm now one of the directors here at the Fort and this video was a spur of the moment idea. We have plenty of work to be getting on with but had to atleast document some of the dismantling 😀

The work of @Nick'sExploration is truly remarkable, exhibiting exceptional smoothness and clarity. I had the opportunity to view a prior video that appeared to have been captured using a camera from the same era, albeit with a flashlight serving as a torch. It is unfortunate that the drone encountered damage. While I have always harbored a desire to attempt flying, I acknowledge that I may have exceeded the appropriate age for such recreational activities.

I can honestly say in all the years i served in the RAF, every base that i worked had some sort of spooky shit going on, lights going on and off, telephones ringing, guard-dogs freaking out always in the same places, foot steps in the corridors in empty buildings !

Hi I am a pad brat and my mum and Dad would start with the ghost stories about goings on the bases when I was a kid, from hangar doors sounding like they had been shot at by an aircraft to rooms suddenly having all the lights on or doors slamming and as you say every base "especially WW2" would seem to have some sort of unexplained goings on, regards James

Went round it about thirty five years ago, i knew someone who lived in there for around seven years. He was a computer whizz kid who lost the plot after hacking the US on the school computer in the mid 80's, he tried to burn down the computer room down after the TV started talking to him and ended up in borstal and then homeless living up there and then in the local woods in a derelict farm for a few years, crazy thing was another kid who i knew quite well was his partner in crime and also went loopy with telekinesis and said ufo/ lights used to talk to him at night. He went on the be legendary at reading reels at amusements and getting banned from them all.
