Brilliant video, the wire in the generator room attached to the shut off valve breaks when there’s a fire, preventing the fuel catching on light, the blue probes are flood detectors and the looking glass are so that you don’t crush someone when you open it

Fantastic. My initial thought of those blue rods is that they could be flood/leak detectors. That is why they go to the floor. If they detect water on the floor they must set off an alarm. Or maybe if there is water on the floor and the electrics have shorted out into the water, these will prevent it.

Thank you, yes you are correct. After looking back at the footage I spotted a flooding control panel on the wall with 3 locations on it and they match the areas with the rods. Cheers

I would guess that the small blue wall mounted devices with the long metal rods out the bottom are water detectors in case if flooding. Two in each location for redundancy.

I would say that morale inside one of these places would have sharply plummeted from day/night one of the outer door being sealed, and by the end of the 2-3 week stretch nerves and tempers would have been in tatters. It is hard to see how on re-emergence how they would have been any use for any attempted reconstruction of infrastructure.
