Steve, thanks for the info! Now that we’re getting into winter again it would be great to see a comparison of your wood stove vs your diesel heater vs a kerosene heater. I have kerosene heaters and have no problem with them,but I don’t see a lot of KZbin content where they’re used for heating cabins or tents. Thanks again.

I had one of these in my18 wheel sleeper , that pump would suck fuel up from the tank 4 feet to the heater. That's what that hard pipe is for. I was in that that sleeper for 5 heating seasons, never had to defrost windows. Definitely don't need the tank mounted so high that it's hard to fill, the pump will last.

why do people put the stove pipe thru the roof ? the amout of heat loose is unreal /
@buildlife13 күн бұрын
Because one wall is a window and the other goes onto a covered porch. 4" pipe on a pellet stove with proper baffles shouldn't loose much if any more through the roof.

That bar turned out super nice, I want to steal your idea for the hanging coffee cans lamps. Were you guys putting that trim up with a pin nailer? The gun looks a lot more compact than my 16 gauge finish nailer.
@buildlife15 күн бұрын
Thanks, I think that gun i a 16 gauge straight nailer. They seem a little shorter than the angle ones.

So many all-wood cabins are boring because there is so much sameness. You guys did a wonderful job of using different wood tones in just the right amount. The book table is simple, but still effective and appealing. Once again, the craftmanship shows through. It really is the details that make a difference.

What made you put in a traditional wall/window ac unit vs a mini split?
@buildlife21 күн бұрын
Its actually a heat and ac unit. Way easier to install as it's all self contained so no coolant line to run and no condensate line. Just one through wall unit.

I put down about 800 sq ft of LVF in our house a few years ago. The pieces were 10 inch wide by 6 ft long vinyl plank flooring. It absolutely wore me out. It was cantankerously hard to make it fit together, especially doing it by yourself . Never doing that again. Things are looking nice down there. Can't wait to see the inauguration party !
@buildlife21 күн бұрын
Thanks Tony, This "Life Proof" flooring they sell and Home Depot is pretty awesome. We've done quite a few of them and it seems to be "easier" than others.

Although I've never done this type of work professionally, I have remodeled a good many of our own places over the years. When you cut multiple pieces of the wall board at one time it surprised me until I remembered that this was new construction and it was and square and true. That is a pleasure I have never had. On old houses, you better measure each and every cut. Little place is looking good and I'm sure many happy memories will be made there by your guests.
@buildlife22 күн бұрын
Thanks Phil, I'm not sure how square and true it is but we can buy a little wiggle room when the next wall hides the cuts.
