Totally agree with you we find quite a few balloons when out detecting on pasture and arable why people can’t just light a candle to remember someone , and if it’s someone’s birthday why not plant a tree instead of releasing these balloons is beyond me.

Sorry I was trying to be funny about Shane being older than me. When I watched the video on KZbin I thought "why in the hell did I pick that year to make a joke" Our Grandad lied about his age to be part of WW1 and in WW2 shrapnel ripped his back open which he survived. That could be it , it’s only quarter of a mile from a church now but we think there could have been a church back in the 12- 1300s

I think on smallish targets that are deep the compactness of the soil helps transfer the signal up into the coil, where once you’ve created a hole you lose some of the depth that you get when it’s more compact , thanks for watching
