Brilliant! The "sudo pkill coreaudiod" worked for me. The sound on my 2018 MacBook Pro was working through the internal computer speakers, but any external speakers I plugged into the audio jack didn't work. Now they do! Thanks a mil.

Misconception that people have is that tearing happens at fps higher than refresh rate of monitor but tearing happens at any fps where it is not in sync with monitor. People seem to ignore the "sync" part of VSync.
