One detail in these pumps whether it's power steering or other is the necessity of cleaning the vanes. People often wonder why pumps only work at higher rpm and this is because some of the vanes can be stuck until the additional centrifugal force pushes the vanes out

I have a 95 with the V4P and it has 16,000 on the Odometer. The V4P does cause a drop in Fuel Economy, because of the 3:42 rear Axle. The Standard Axle Ratio was 2:93 Too Bad this Car is Black.

Maybe mine were severely worn, but even with the new gear, I was able to remove and install them without taking the motor off the housing. Thank you for the detailed video, saved me from pulling the assembly!

'49 to '67 on basic first gen OHV Cad V8 engine design...started at 331", ended up at 429" as you mention. OHV = "Overhead Head Valve..." First year Toro was '66, one year ahead on FWD Eldo. First year Toro was FWD, too. 425" Olds Rocket. I have a '58 Seville, same engine and carb set-up. Also in North TX. Spot on on the sewing machine analogy.

I have to get mine serviced or something. On newbmy fast track it has trouble at times. It can still work perfectly at times it’s just probably have to move the pickups closer to the rail because I think that’s what’s causing it to not react sometimes. Do you have the whole set?2004? Like in total, your trajn should be pulling about 10 cars

gorgeous example...stunning in all-white. My fav car of all time. Yes, the conversion to springs on these is not successful...better to get existing system working, but $$$ like everything else on the brougham. I have a 58 Fleetwood with airride, and the compressor is belt driven with the p/s pump driven off the back of the compressor. Much easier to convert the 60-62 series to springs since airride was an option and the bags and springs use the same pockets (front a-arms are different tho), not standard and designed around it like on the broughams. Fortunately I have all the take-off parts if I ever get ambitious to restore it to air.

My '90 has the 6 lug wheels. GM dd a good job as the wheel faces are virtually identical to the 5 lug version. There used to be a great online bulletin board for these trucks.. was like NATC or something to that effect. Gone now but not forgotten. These were special trucks from this era and one thing that GM mostly did right to differentiate these from the run-of-the-mill shortbeds. So many unique parts unlike the later Vortec SS trucks.

Nice car. Can you explain how the memory seat works? It seems impossible without electronics.
There are three knobs for the seat. Front one controls the up down of the front of the seat and the third one also does same for rear tilt of seat. Middle one moves seat fwd and backwards. There are two round circles under each of the three knobs, a green, and red one. one sets the red one by pushing a small little button down which disengages the red circle under the knob while manually turning each of the knobs for up, down, fwd and back. When the desired setting is found, the button is released, locking the red circle to the knob. The same is done with the green, second seat position button. When the door is opened, the seat goes all the way back and all the way down. When a driver opens the drivers door to enter the vehicle, if the red circle is set in the green position, one simple turns those three knobs to line up with the pre set red positions and visa versa for the green pre sets if they are in the red position. When the driver sits on the seat, there is a switch under it which is attached with a string and is energizing by the drivers weight when sitting down powering the seat unit. . the automatic seat system is then operational when the drivers door closes, the seat then goes to those preset positions the driver has just dialed in before entering the car. If there are no changes by the driver, the seat will return to preset when the last driver exited the car. There is a master on/off switch under the drivers seat attached to the metal box where all the wiring goes into. if one doesn't want the seat to be moving every time the door is opened or closed, the master switch turns it off. If the master switch is turned on, the three seat positions can be adjusted even while car is being driven. Without seeing the seat control panel, this is probably somewhat confusing but there are pictures of the seat panel on line which could help one to understand How it functions. Hope this helps! (58 Brougham owner here)
