These cars were soooooo far ahead of EVERYTHING❗️It's too bad we're not the "Standard of the World" anymore📣

gorgeous example...stunning in all-white. My fav car of all time. Yes, the conversion to springs on these is not successful...better to get existing system working, but $$$ like everything else on the brougham. I have a 58 Fleetwood with airride, and the compressor is belt driven with the p/s pump driven off the back of the compressor. Much easier to convert the 60-62 series to springs since airride was an option and the bags and springs use the same pockets (front a-arms are different tho), not standard and designed around it like on the broughams. Fortunately I have all the take-off parts if I ever get ambitious to restore it to air.

Nice car. Can you explain how the memory seat works? It seems impossible without electronics.
There are three knobs for the seat. Front one controls the up down of the front of the seat and the third one also does same for rear tilt of seat. Middle one moves seat fwd and backwards. There are two round circles under each of the three knobs, a green, and red one. one sets the red one by pushing a small little button down which disengages the red circle under the knob while manually turning each of the knobs for up, down, fwd and back. When the desired setting is found, the button is released, locking the red circle to the knob. The same is done with the green, second seat position button. When the door is opened, the seat goes all the way back and all the way down. When a driver opens the drivers door to enter the vehicle, if the red circle is set in the green position, one simple turns those three knobs to line up with the pre set red positions and visa versa for the green pre sets if they are in the red position. When the driver sits on the seat, there is a switch under it which is attached with a string and is energizing by the drivers weight when sitting down powering the seat unit. . the automatic seat system is then operational when the drivers door closes, the seat then goes to those preset positions the driver has just dialed in before entering the car. If there are no changes by the driver, the seat will return to preset when the last driver exited the car. There is a master on/off switch under the drivers seat attached to the metal box where all the wiring goes into. if one doesn't want the seat to be moving every time the door is opened or closed, the master switch turns it off. If the master switch is turned on, the three seat positions can be adjusted even while car is being driven. Without seeing the seat control panel, this is probably somewhat confusing but there are pictures of the seat panel on line which could help one to understand How it functions. Hope this helps! Thanks for outlining the special features and so forth. How is the heated rear seat coolant valve shut off? Is it controlled from in the passenger compartment. Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes its valves as part of the temp slide control. As with all cadillac, they try and simplify it too much! Should have had “rear heat on and off” switch.
