Beautiful quilt. I've made several of these. There's many ways to skin the quilt cat. To cut down on individual blocks I made some modifications on my production: (1) For the two split rectangles, make 1 Triangle in Square unit. Better yet, make 1 Diamond rectangle as these units are joined at the wide base. (2) 4 HST's can be substituted for 1 square in square block. This works particularly well if there is directional fabric or if you want fabric continuity. The quilt then requires your making just 2 blocks. (And it is best to have trim down rulers to help with this, which I have. It makes production a breeze). Patterns such as this show how striking a two material quilt can be as the geometry (in this instance the lovely undulating squares). Thank you for sharing this striking pattern.

Two years later…I’m making this block. Mistake about finishing the little HST’s on the edge…should “say” FINISH TO 2”….NOT 1 1/2”. I made it work but my block is not the size it should be.

6/24. I like how you cut the blocks a little larger, then trim. Also the ways to layout the block varieties at the end. Also love the colors you choose. Any beginner could follow your patterns. ❤🇺🇸

I'm looking for the Cutting Chart for Corner Square Triangles you mentioned to be on your website. I can't seem to find it. The main issue we're looking at is if we know the finished size of each square (comprised of 3 triangles {1 lg, 2 sm}), then how do we know what size the original unfinished squares should be to start with?

Hi, if you go to www.poppypatchwork.com and click on free downloads, choose Quarter Square Triangles and you see the measurements for Split QST using 3 fabrics. poppypatchwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/PoppyPatchwork-Quarter-Square-Triangle-Cutting-Charts.pdf. Hope this helps, happy quilting, Jayne

5/24. Hi! Started the bear paw and it’s really coming out very nice!! Black claw, dark brown palm and gold background. The center is dark red to match the border and backing. There are many bear paw patters but yours is terrific! If you lived next door, I’d run over to show you and have a spot of tea. ❤🇺🇸
