How did you know what size to build the enclosure/port? I have some old school car audio seperates that I was thinking about repurposing.

@KarlGutowski 2 жыл бұрын
I can't take you seriously as a speaker builder. Recessed-mounting your drivers can look nice, but sounds awful, unless you actually implement certain horn profiles for the tweeter. This is one of the stupidest trends in audio that prioritizes looks over function.

Nice video man! One question: what is the size/diameter of the wire connnection that you used on the wire that connects to the binding posts on the inside of the cabinets?
@Blober112
@Blober112 3 жыл бұрын
I can't remember exactly, they don't pull many amps so anything over 20 gauge/0.50mm2 should do it. Better to go bigger than smaller

@@Blober112 Awesome, thanks a lot! I just noticed that my Daytonaudio binding posts already come with a little metal piece for me to weld the wire to.

Right away you can hear the effect of mounting the drivers that way. Sounds like when you cup your hand over your mouth to yell louder.

You should try the fxtreme DB450 DSP amp! it is wayy better then any wondom/dayton boards, and it has literally everything already build in, bluetooth, DSP, 4 channels and even a freakin step up booster! so basically a AIO lol.... i already bought it a few weeks ago and it really is the best amp money can buy

Nice process of building. Looks good. But can't understand this angle. And final testing means nothing without actual fr graphs. I've heard just overloading middle and highs. No bass. Do you use them with additional sub?
@Blober112
@Blober112 4 жыл бұрын
I'm only a beginner at this. I don't have any way to get graphs nor would I bother. These are average speakers and were meant to be paired with a sub that I was going to build but never got around to it because I used a sub that I had laying around and it didn't really fix it's low end issues
@khanoff13
@khanoff13 4 жыл бұрын
@@Blober112, it's not an issue at all. You can use REW for that. Room EQ wizard. Just reference condenser microphone. Or any other with wide sensitivity on full range.

Donny Terek has put together one of the best wiring diagrams I have ever seen for a Bluetooth system that incorporates WIFI, crossovers and a switch to select between the two signals. You can download the schematics from his KZbin site or his Instructables channel. cdn.instructables.com/ORIG/FD7/F5PM/JRGOIVF2/FD7F5PMJRGOIVF2.pdf

OMG... Another how to build a box video. I've wasted mass amounts of my time watching "Bluetooth Speaker Build" Videos, including this one. Most of the time is spent building a box! Who cares? Little or NO time is spent on wiring crossovers, what capacitors to use, where to plug wires, resistors and/or battery banks needed and/or what to solder. I'm a noob at this. I can build a box. What I can't do is wire up a Bluetooth speaker system. Please rename your video to 'How To Build A Box'....Thanks

My apologies John, I'm Just really frustrated. I have to wear a headset (because of the baby) and I have burned through so many videos with loud table saws, routers and/or music that sounds like someone skinning a cat that I'm starting to go nutzoid. I'm beginning to believe the wiring is some highly guarded secret. BTW, your speaker is awesome and I would love to build one....just show us how to wire is...thanks.

@@rj27588 I tried the balance the audio to a more consistent level in my other video, and am working harder on it in my next video. I did not include the wiring in this because it's too difficult to capture so people can understand, and making the shots longer would solve this but then I'd have a much longer video. Plus, I'm not sure I got the wiring to a high enough standard for the youtube trolls. Are you specifically wiring in the Dayton Audio bluetooth board?

@@Blober112 Awesome to know! Been wanting to know this for awhile. Maybe ported and tuned around 30-50hz should sound a tad better. I don't suggest anything lower than 30hz for this type of build.
