Great production. I think it's cool how high quality of a camera you used along with the microphone, and you don't say anything. It's like ASMR or something. That's a huge hole saw as well, didn't know they made them that big. Beautiful enclosure.

Thank you! I've always enjoyed the sounds of a solo workshop. Banging and crashing and sawing then silence. The hole saw was a megga cheat I must admit, I could have cut the hole many other ways but this was the quickest. I think it's 180mm or something similar

I did not tune them. However I believe that when you add more weight you cut off higher frequencies, but you also make it harder to move at lower frequencies. So the volume would need to be higher for them to produce just bass

looks sweet, will be attempting something similar, just not a cube and with 3.5in speakers/radiators me thinks. How does the 2x30 go for this application? i was thinking 2x15 for portable.

Depends on the driver, some are more efficient than others. 2x15 will do perfectly if you design the enclosure correctly and pick the right drivers. Plus battery life will be 2x better

Daniel Hutchinson hey buddy, thank you! The sealant strips I got are just from the hardware store. They are self adhesive strips to seal windows. I'm not sure where you are located but in Australia the hardware store I used is Bunnings and it's called Raven 5m Door And Window Seal. Just pick something not too thick because it'll be a pain to seal without many screws

Hayden 2000 I can't recommend them enough, however I would pare it with a tweeter for ideal crispness. In my next build which should be done soon, I do put a tweeter with this driver and a subwoofer and it sounds perfect

You should try the fxtreme DB450 DSP amp! it is wayy better then any wondom/dayton boards, and it has literally everything already build in, bluetooth, DSP, 4 channels and even a freakin step up booster! so basically a AIO lol.... i already bought it a few weeks ago and it really is the best amp money can buy

This looks fantastic, and the heavy, quality material mitigates my only criticism, but I'm hoping this isn't quite a perfect cube. Equal sides mean the speakers' vibration can hit resonance in every direction at the same time.

Nice quality, but it isnt a sealed box. Air may leak through the non existent dustcaps, the non glued back panel, through the switches and probably where the front speakers meet the wood.

The link to the drivers are in the description, the mids are good but it lacks low end. Better off porting it or adding a larger woofer for the lows

@@Blober112 Awesome to know! Been wanting to know this for awhile. Maybe ported and tuned around 30-50hz should sound a tad better. I don't suggest anything lower than 30hz for this type of build. BUT it also depends on what type of music you (anyone) listens to. -- I have no clue how I didn't see the links.. whoops lol. Thanks!

Gabor Kovacs I did a bit of research before building and I found that you need a radiator 1.5x to 2x bigger than your main driver

It does sounds good, I'm still learning how to build speakers and I think I could have squeezed more bass out of it by using a port rather than the radiators. It does look cooler like this though haha!! I can get down to 60ish herz but because it's a full range driver it doesn't quite perform like that when playing music because it needs to focus on all the frequencies. I tend to use an EQ to boost the bass and lower the highs to make it perform better when it's on it's own. Right now its home is in my room hooked up to the TV, paired with a sub-woofer without an EQ. Check back in a couple of weeks, i'll be uploading a new video then with my latest build. It's this exact same driver but with a port and paired with a tweeter and a new subwoofer.

Funny magnetic fail between 5:54 and 6:02. But it is a very good stuff. I think I can build a 2.1 sound system for my computer by this way (when I didn't build every speaker in one box and connect them with wire).😀 Please take to me the list of the parts what you use to make this great stuff.

Because there is only one full range driver per side there is no need for a crossover. The larger speaker on the side is just passive, to help with bass, it doesn't actually have a magnet - nor is it connected to the amplifier

John Grech ahh i thought it was powered. Passive woofers dont work unless you have another active woofer to power them. They should be matched 1:1 normally and from the looks of things the tuning frequency wasnt set on this

sam smith yeah the radiators don't put out much extra bass. Future research is needed before I try with them again. I got a similar result by adding a 1 inch by 4 inch port and that's $30 cheaper per speaker haha

The style I was going for, and am continuing to use, is to give the viewer a straight up perspective of what It's like to be in my workshop. Sounds and all. I rarely work with music on and barely talk to myself so I portrayed that in the video. All you can hear are power tools and birds

Cheers I appreciate the feedback. Firstly Dado sets are expensive and I can think of many joins that look better and are easier.All of my tools are hand downs from my father or bought second hand, I bought the table saw for $50 used and I couldn't warrant buying a $190 dado set just yet. Saying that I did just use a butt joint in this and round the edge to make it look better but it's honestly all I wanted for this. Something simple. I don't see a problem with the screws, please explain? Honestly I don't know what i'm doing when it comes to dampening, I didn't have any of the wool stuff you'd normally put in a speaker but I had that stuff so I just put it in. It sounds fine for a boom box but later when I build more high end stuff I'll research it better.

My only issue was the saw marks and burns left in the wood. A little more time sanding would have gone a long way in the looks dept. Other than that it seems solid enough.

OMG... Another how to build a box video. I've wasted mass amounts of my time watching "Bluetooth Speaker Build" Videos, including this one. Most of the time is spent building a box! Who cares? Little or NO time is spent on wiring crossovers, what capacitors to use, where to plug wires, resistors and/or battery banks needed and/or what to solder. I'm a noob at this. I can build a box. What I can't do is wire up a Bluetooth speaker system. Please rename your video to 'How To Build A Box'....Thanks

@@rj27588 I tried the balance the audio to a more consistent level in my other video, and am working harder on it in my next video. I did not include the wiring in this because it's too difficult to capture so people can understand, and making the shots longer would solve this but then I'd have a much longer video. Plus, I'm not sure I got the wiring to a high enough standard for the youtube trolls. Are you specifically wiring in the Dayton Audio bluetooth board?
