I love how you reiterate what an awful idea this is at the end while just beaming and enjoying the delicious results of your reckless behaviour. 10/10 will not try at home (my wife will kill me).
@razorgriddleАй бұрын
HAHA! yes it was an awful idea, but it had some unexpected kickbacks - dealing with the oil at the end was way easier than usual with the grease trap, and I liked that it heated up really quickly (compared to deep frying in a pan on the griddle). But yes LET THE RECKLESSNESS CONTINUE while I'm still allowed

That actually turned out pretty good haha. How much oil leakage was there?

I'd say about 100ml out of the 2 litres I used? It went straight back onto the griddle. I ended up with about 1.7ish litres back in the bottle at the end, so I guess some of that was wastage and some of that went into my body (I'll have to go for a run i think)

Yeah I'd give it a go. Is that grill thing for inside?

No way! We must have commandeered Feijoas completely then! It's native to your country- Wikipedia says "named after João da Silva Feijó, a Portuguese naturalist... First collected in the highlands of southern Brazil". Crazy! (Written by @casterazucar - guy who made the ratatouille)

It CAN BE DONE. Here is the recipe for the @razorgriddle upside down pineapple olive oil cake, and its EXCEEDINGLY EASY. Ingredients: Tin of pineapple 1 Cup of Olive Oil 1 Cup of Single Cream 1 Cup of Caster Sugar Zest of 1 Lemon 1 Tsp of Salt 2 Eggs Flour 4 Teaspoons of Baking Powder For the Syrup Juice of 3 Lemons 3/4 Cup of Sugar Equipment: Cake tin Griddle dome (griddle dome has to be taller and wider than the cake tin) Method In a bowl, add the olive oil, single cream, caster sugar, lemon zest, salt and eggs, and whisk until the sugar has dissolved. Next, we've got a bit of guess work - you're aiming for texture here - incrementally add flour until you get a thick texture, so when you lift the whisk out the cake batter flows freely, but the demarcation lines take about 5-10 seconds to go flat. When you're at that stage, mix in the baking powder. On your Razor, turn two burners to the lowest setting. Oil up the area you need and place the pineapple rings in a circle approximately between, enough that they'll fit within a cake tin with a removable bottom. Pour the cake batter in. around the outside of the cake tin, pour water, and cover with the griddle dome. It'll steam cook, and pretty quickly at that - it took me around 30 mins. Add water under the dome periodically to keep it nice and steamy. On low heat in a pot, add lemon juice and sugar, and bring to a rolling boil. Once it starts to bubble up, take off the heat. After about 30mins, insert a wooden skewer at various points in the cake to see if it comes out clean, if not, add more water around the cake tin and continue to steam it until its sets. Flip the cake by putting a plate on top and sliding a large spatula underneath, or if needed, a flat baking tray. When you flip, the cake might be a bit charred (depending on wind conditions and whether you have wind guards) - just pull those bits off, they'll come away clean. The pineapple tastes amazing with a bit of char, so leave that. Let the cake cool, take away the cake tin, and poke holes in the cake with a skewer, and pour the lemon syrup over top. Serve, DELICIOUS. Enjoy!

As a welsh person from Cardiff if you ever visit Cardiff i shall arrest u on the spot for putting basil in welshcakes. Who the bleedin hell does that. Its like putting ketchup in spaghetti. As a welsh turk i would i would like to say there ok but next time no basil. There are meant to be sweet

i lived in Wales for a year, in Cardiff (Whitchurch!, actually! this was just having fun with the flavours - and they were sweet indeed! Basil works very well as a sweet herb too! Btw - i LOVED Cardiff- my favourite city in the UK!

Recipe: 1/4 White cabbage, very thinly sliced and massaged with two to three pinches of sea salt (like a PINCH, with three fingers and a thumb). Add two tablespoons of rice wine vinegar, and then massage it even more. Let the cabbage wilt. Then mince 30g pickled ginger, a small handful of thai basil, and three cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 4 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tsp msg (optional) and a tablespoon of sesame seeds. Mix it all together, along with 500g chop-minced prawn meat and 800g pork mince. The bread 120g Bread Flour (Plus Extra for dusting) 80ml Warm Water 40ml Warm Milk 15g Caster Sugar 10g Salt 7g Active Dry Yeast 15ml Sesame Oil Mix the milk and water, then stir in caster sugar and slat until dissolved. Add the yeast, sesame oil and then flour. Mix into a shaggy dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes, then fold it four times, similar to a focaccia. Cover it a little more sesame oil (or neutral or peanut oil) and leave to rest for another 15 minutes, repeat. By now you should have a nice smooth dough. Leave it to rise, well oiled, until doubled with size, then section it into bread sticks. I did five with mine, but you can choose the size. Leave the breads to rise once more on a well oiled piece of baking paper before toasting on the griddle on a low heat, 7 mins a side. Once done, allow to cool. Cut them in half (as per video) and toast the inside. Smear on the pork and prawn mixture on BOTH halves, then slap it back on the griddle on a medium heat with a little oil. It'll need about 5-10 minutes of cooking to get it cooked all the way through, so it will develop an amazing crust. Serve with sliced fresh plums, peppery watercress and bulldog sauce with kewpie. DELICIOUS.

How about not grilling the onion/garlic? Sure you lose some flavour, but it's less work and it gets blended and fried eventually anyway.
@razorgriddle5 ай бұрын
I tried this as well- they ended up cooking too long to get the onion/garlic soft and dried out like crazy, but there must be a way right? Will brainstorm!
