It seems Professional Piano Players don’t understand how intimidating learning piano as beginner can be. Here’s a real beginner song list from ChatGPT 4o. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Mary Had a Little Lamb Row, Row, Row your Boat Happy Birthday Jingle Bells Chopsticks Old McDonald Had a Farm London Bridge is Falling Down

You're not playing octaves. You're just holding down the low C while you play the higher C. You should alternate low-high.

Any advise for those of us with thick non-pointy fingers? Every time I try your technique on chords with straddled white keys I pull along both straddling black keys! The only way I manage is by turning my hand so the fingers get in sideways. But that's really tiring and slows me down considerably.

This deserves way more likes! So many things just clicked in my head seeing this. Especially when you said any letter isn't repeated, it's either a flat or sharp depending. Obvious now lol. Thanks man.

So if I understand this right, I can play any inversion I want and still call it a C as long as I play a C with my left hand or a C/E as long as my left hand plays an E. Lucky me, this is how I been playing all the time. (I'm lazy and don't want to move my hand more than necessary, also it makes it easier to find the next chord without having to look at the keys).

I’m curious to know how learning scales, chords, etc helps with playing music. Even if you learn all this, for me personally, it never helped me to play a piece. So please tell me what I’m missing here.

Wow! I love this using chords and breaking notes with it. Right with it a music composition plays in your head. I like to see a song in mind that applies to the chords you have introduced. How do you put your chords into a song.

One of the best tutorials on KZbin, but it’s worth noting the triad explanation skipped an important step and what I found to be fundamental to understanding how notes combine to make chords i.e tone, tone, semitone, tone, tone, tone, semitone for a major. This for me was a game changer when it came to understanding how notes combine to make a scale.

I''m piano teacher, but this video is REALLY useful for me, on how to explain this part easily to my sudents. Also I have to add, that in Russia we teach the correct positioning of hands on the piano from the very beginning, simultaneously with the study of notes, etc.
