Great work. Over many decades I've done pub and resto gigs. In my experience you have to largely forget about the audience until you get a reaction, then follow it. Just play for YOU, it's all practice and you're doing well. Better gigs will come your way, don't give up!

And you as well, friend! Sorry for the late response, been moving. It's a really cool experience to be able to follow and communicate with upcoming artists in real time. I did not see KZbin roots music coming when we were watching Smosh in middle school.

Apologies for the late response, been in the process of moving. I wasn't too sure about this one, so I'm very happy and surprised to hear that. I've never had much problem with lyrical songs, where the lyrics build off the melody and vice versa. A writer was the first thing I ever was. But instrumental music, as it happens, is a whole different animal. I find have to be much more precise and to plan every note out. It gave me a lot of trouble until I started writing in sheet music again. Having it laid out that way was a real help.

Man I love the style of your voice! You’ve got an original soul thing going on with, depth and character to your voice. Love the melody and rhythm of the song and the lyrics are really catchy. Keep doing your thing! I create music as well so I’m on this journey with you 🙏🏾

Hey buddy. I really appreciate that, before these last few months, not many people had ever heard anything I've written. Means a whole lot to get a good response on it. And hey! Been meaning to tell you, me and the Buddies have been absolutely tearing up your record. Excellent stuff. If you get a chance, how'd you record it? Equipment wise?

@@bloozwalrus8859 Oh man, really glad to hear that. Just recorded it in my living room with my dad doing the technical/producing kind of stuff. The program we used is called Audacity. Miked the banjo with a Rode NT1-A condenser mic , Shure SM7B mic for the vocals, and Volt 2 audio interface. I don't know a lot about recording but we got all the recording done in a night and editing done in a day, so our system seemed to work well enough to get a simple but decent sounding recording.

@@FreddyBadger One day and one night! That's some Dylan level efficiency right there. I definitely know audacity, since it was the free one I used it to teach myself the technical stuff. I was going to buy that Shure mic as well, ended up with an MXR 990 condenser and an AKG P170 shotgun. The first couple videos just used the laptop mic, but afterwards I rigged those to my laptop camera so it would use them for audio, but I honestly have no idea how I did that. Amazing how far home recording has come. But yeah man, absolutely love the record. Passing the message along to anyone into old time appalachian.
