Now, I am an impressively ignorant person and my ideas are suspect. But I went to Holly Ridge, MS, once where the man is interred, and the road into the town was the worst I've ever driven on ever. It was as if a very large group of people had dedicated their whole lives to offending this road. It was as if that two miles had sustained a recent strategic bombing. Coinkidink? I think not.
Super cool place though. Ran into Asie Payton's son in the boneyard and played a while with him and his lady. Reportedly, Patton hangs out on the porch of the old general store.
