The best part is that the song that you used to show off was Highscore, which was my favorite song back when I still played OSU! I probably have 30 hours of playing that one map because it was the best song for me to learn jumps to while also having such a cool beat.

So I took your advice on playing low star maps (I’m a beginner so I play them anyways 💀), and have successfully SS’d a few but honestly the OD’s were really low and on one map I hit the last note pretty late but I still got a 300. So I changed the OD to 9 and I’ve been having a much more challenging time. Both fun and frustrating, of course. Is this a good way to get better or am I overdoing it?

Yeah, I played a lot back in 2013-2014, got top 300 world back then, pp farming wasn’t such a thing, maps like these with jumps are easy enough, you can get good at them dedicating 4 months or so, next step was training HC maps, but I decided to stop and pursue music production instead. Good times, though. Also, friend tip: if you don’t play any instruments and you are noticing you are improving at osu extremely fast, go learn how to play an instrument right away. World is in dire need of actually talented musicians. /u/tutzz
