The Leigh v London game featured two sides who both looked better than at least three at the not-so-super end of the top division. I haven't seen Warrington this year, but I have seen Huddersfield and Featherstone, and I think Leigh and London are both more than a match for them.

2024 is a season that has been dominated by players being wrongly sent off. The game has a huge problem with current interpretation of the rules and wouldnt suprise me if we see another ridiculous decision deciding a Grand Final.

KR and Leigh, have been magnificent this season. So entertaining! However I can't see anybody but Wigan winning the final. This would mean Saints, Leeds and Wigan, (the big three) will have shared the trophy between then, I believe 24 consecutive times, which is not a good look.

Huddersfield new stadium? Where? I might be out of date, but I'm not aware of anywhere in Hudds which would meet Super League criteria. So is it moving out of the town and sharing with Halifax again? Or Dewsbury? If that's the plan, it's not the way to go at all. They need to work on connecting with the town, not moving out of it.

The two ancient RL noises are "gerremonside" and "fohwid". Whether they bear any relation to events on the pitch is questionable. When I first heard these noises that's all they were, unintelligible as words to a Scots lad, more familiar with noises such as "awaanbileyerheid".

Good grief you 2 need give it a break with the hatred of Leigh, castleford did a release last week with what they believed to be their IMG scores didn’t hear you moaning then - we get it you hate Beaumont! Why not celebrate the huge achievement of Leigh making the playoffs (again) and doubling our attendance 🤷 your nearly as bitter as Tomkins and Wilkin 🤣

I’m surprised they actually mentioned Leigh at all. Usually too busy foaming at the mouth about Wire.

@@andrewbirkett698Tell you what, you’ll be in for a treat on Saturday when Saints turn them over. They haven’t got it in them to go any further. It’s a mentality thing. They’re accomplished losers.

Brilliant reporting! I went in the Sunday this was, without doubt, the highlight of my day. The joy on the players faces and the crowd engagement was truly brilliant.

A massive plus is if the NRL invest time, money & talent into Super league, is that Kids that can’t get a gig in the NRL can ply there trade in the Northern hemisphere. All NRL clubs have academies etc there’s no way they can hold all the talent coming through.

its quicker for hunslet to get to Bedford than to Whitehaven or Workington so no saving really. just another samm town team if its goole . really it says a lot about rugby league in it not wanting real growth

It looks like Hull KR's ground holds over 12,000 (not 9,000) In addition, they put in an extra 1,000 seats for the remainder of their season. Hope we show up, but I'd rather see them lift cup & shield over the usuals! 🤞

I don't see how Salford can get the crowds they need in that depressing car desert. No caffs, no pubs, no chippies and very scant public transport. You're right to say they need the kids, as every club does, and they're not going to get them in that place. Compare Cas. They have the "worst" ground in Super League, in terms of structure and amenities, but they have all the advantages I've just mentioned. So they get the people through the gates, kids included, even though there has been much less to cheer on the pitch than at Salford in recent times.

Here's a sign of change at Warrington. They've been rightly criticised in the past for not developing their own talent or bringing young players through. Now the Scholarship season has ended, Leeds have had a brilliant season, winning 7 out of 8 games. Our only defeat was not to one of the other clubs with an outstanding reputation for young talent, such as Saints, but to Warrington. That's a welcome shift at that level, even though 8 out of 8 for us would have been great.

How many turned over from Huddersfield v Saints to watch London v Leeds instead? Leeds were so bad in the first half that I was tempted to do the reverse. Uninspiring as Saints have been recently, they surely couldn't be as dire as Leeds? But I stayed with the win we didn't deserve. London are certainly a better watch than Hudds.

Just to remind you guys. When you discussed the Warrington game and the inevitable their year scenario, they actually played a team called Leigh Leopards which made the remarkable achievement of getting into the top 6 After only 1 win in the first 9 matches. But of course; you can’t sacrifice valuable Wire airtime.

With his surname, Oli Leyland must have some Lancashire ancestry to rely on. I always thought that Danny Brough - just about the Yorkshireist name you could think of - playing for Scotland, while Danny McGuire played for -Ire..- I mean England sounded daft. James Bell playing for Scotland is OK. His dad is Scots, not his second cousin twice removed and there's no more Scots name than Bell.

I always regarded chants of "Yorkshire! Yorkshire!" as a bit boring but harmless. Some of the witty and usually obscene chants heard at football are preferable. At least they are original, and usually arising from recent events/news. (I did say "some", there are exceptions). However, now that "Yorkshire! Yorkshire!" was heard extensively from people trying to burn down a former hotel full of asylum seekers in Rotherham, and also in Hull, I take a different view of it. I don't want to hear it again. Give that one a rest for a few years, I suggest. It is now in the same box as "Sieg Heil!". There's nothing wrong with it inherently, but it has become a racist threat by use and association. Anyway, the only Yorkshire club with anything to shout about at the moment is Hull KR, and I've never heard that chant from their supporters.

The Oldham formula has not been just money and signing some better players, but "reconnect with the town". I don't know how well they've done that, but it's certainly what Dewsbury need to do.
