Great video, but take care removing and putting back the assembly! I bent a dampener. Got it fixed back up though. Lots of fragile parts!

Looks like an old " Ackermann, Stuttgart" piano. It seems to have extraordinary many (20) one -string bass notes.

Hello, I was Cleaning/dusting an old piano. However after replacing the key tops and trying to settle the big/heavy drum piece. Most of my piano keys stop playing. They were stuck. Is there a specific way of placing back. 😅ty

That was MOST helpful, it lead me to the fault which happened to be a spring. The spring had folded over, it snapped into 3 bits on removal (old and brittle). I replaced with a new spring from a pen cut to 15mm and fastened with bluetac. Will use glue if it ever pops out. Thanx to you we have music again. Very grateful to your tutorial. :)

What you actually did was to re-glue the jack back into the whippen! Working at pianos is addictive if you have the patients and dedication you could start replacing all the felts leathers and doing a full regulation. Provided the tuning pins are all reasonably tight it may be worth while,,, but then you may just want to restring and replace all the dampers and hammers,,, mind you provided the soundboard is in good condition you more or less have a new piano after that!

This is really nice! Although i dont understand my piano, my piano is out of tune, the keys are crooked and 2 of my piano keys fell down as in the piano keys are down and i cant lift it back up, nor can it play. They are also really loose that whe i play they arent tighy they just fall.

What was the part of the piano called that resembled a felt strip on a metal bar? My piano has the same thing and I know nothing about it
@Macvriendin7 жыл бұрын
Austin deClaire It is a device by which you can make the sound of your piano very soft. For studying in the eventing without disturbing anyone. So, you should have 3 pedals under your piano when you have this. The pedal in the middle can be pushen down and pushed to the side with your foot so that is stays locked in place. Now you can study your notes. Not with a wonderful sound but your neighbours won't complain.
