As a beginner player who plays 3-4 a month just for fun, would you recommend this over the vatic prism flash? Thanks

Most people don't want to talk about how most of these "smaller brands" are literally just using a copy-paste paddle mold and slapping their logo on it
@RickJacked
@RickJacked Күн бұрын
People also don't want to talk about how most of the Joola's that cost 260, max cost 35 bucks to make and are being sold at almost a 1000% markup

@@RickJacked If you knew anything about logistics, paying employee salaries, tariffs, etc you wouldn't be saying that. Just so you know most of these "smaller brands" actually skirt tariffs, use factories that don't even comply with China's labor standards, use molds from bigger companies without paying for them, benefit from larger companies' orders by piggybacking off bulk carbon fiber orders and more. Don't make uneducated comments if you don't know anything about real overseas manufacturing and logistics

That's correct, but I do want to create these videos so people know what these paddles/brands are and don't fall for marketing terms. Most indeed are catalog brands but that's not something everyone knows and they may get confused by the product description. If it's a cheaper version of another brand I'll mention it but if it's a copy cat at a higher price, then there's no point buying it

I'm looking for a more controlled oriented standard shape paddle with long handle. Which model would you recommend? Have you tried the Gruvn s Lazr?

11Six24 Monarch Jellybean if you want a control oriented standard shape paddle. And no unfortunately didn't have time to try the grivns

For a beginner I would recommend the Vatic Prism instead. It's more beginner friendly and gives you good control, it's also a cheaper and better value paddle

I have played 16 games with the original paddle. This review was consistent with my experience. Unless you are playing at a very high level, this paddle will not be the reason you lose.

How is the feel on the surface? Similar to DBD? Does it have more power/pop over the Engage Pursuit pro-1's?
@TickleMyPickleball
@TickleMyPickleball Күн бұрын
Less pop than the 13mm engage. But more powerful. Feel isn't like a 16 gen 2, it's a unique feel to the olympus

I have not used any of the paddles on this list except the Friday paddle, so I don't know how they compare to my current paddle, the Hudef Apex Pro. The Apex Pro is a great control paddle that is easy to learn to use. I'm able to do resets with it without much effort. It does lack a little in power and pop, but beginners should learn control before worrying about power.
@TickleMyPickleball
@TickleMyPickleball 3 күн бұрын
Apex Pro is a fantastic beginners paddle. But I definitely recommend checking out the 11Six24 jellybeans. Better construction, better sweet spot, and just a tad bit more pop & power. One of the best control paddles out right now

Thank you for this! I looked for reviews of this for a long time before purchasing (didn’t find any). Used tungsten tape on it and started developing tennis elbow and now I know why- swing weight is already heavy.

Great Video. I actually own 2 on this list. The Vatic Prism Flash and the Pickln Piknix Pro. I like both very much but the one I always end up playing with is the Pickln Piknix Pro. For some reason I tend to get tennis elbow when I play a lot with the Vatic but not at all with the Pickln. I also like the short handle of the Pickln because I don't use a two handed backhand and I hold my paddle kinda like a ping pong paddle. Great list. Thank you.
