I bought one of the first ones i think about 6 years ago, while it's a really accurate rifle its gone back to the importers Hull cartridge for the 3rd time now. Loss of power the first time, not indexing the magazine the second time and now wildly varying difference in the power of shots....and it would discharge when putting the safety back on!!

Nice looking rifle for £150 with a scope and i will add i have never shot a PCP rifle, never will because it's just something that's never interested me since shooting on/off since a lad back in the 1970's. I am on the lookout for a budget Spring hence here viewing your content. Great video and appreciate.

Maybe 13mm is the metric equivalent of an original 1/2” dovetail ? Also, what does the barrel shroud bring to the show ? What is its function ?
@rangecountryairguns58832 күн бұрын
That could well be the explanation, it is still an odd size to still make rifles in though. The shroud provides a good amount of noise reduction and also changes the lines of the rifle and makes it look nicer

So this rifle has no recoil because its a springer.........and the stock is made of proper real wood. Really? I have owned a 900X. Not a bad rifle. However, when I came to trade it in it was found to be running at 13 F/P . Buyer beware.

Need to try penetration at range , there's a series of 3 u tube vids , whilst the .22 rocked the target , it didn't penetrate rabbit skin at 50 yards, whilst the .177 did easily and penetrated blue tack behind it
@geetee71545 күн бұрын
Oh, crikey, I haven't seen one of these for many years, I had one about 7-8 years ago it was a very good springer, reasonably accurate & reliable, I think it was about £80ish at the time, traded in for a Weihrauch HW77 which I have ever since, good review guy's 👍

I think I have watched a different video. Look at the main cluster(group)of where the pellets have hit the target, rather than looking at the target centre.

I had one of these in 177 which I bought from a mate to help him out to raise a few quid and I can honestly say the one I had was fantastic and was nigh on putting pellet on pellet at 25 yards and I remember the pellets I used were accupells. Anyone starting out on a budget in my view can’t go far wrong with one of these as I said the one I had was 177 and it really did impress me.

Only now noticing Lawrence pulling the trigger, looks bloody terrible, that definitely lets the rifle down, however a beginner would not worry about the trigger and would definitely end up buying a better rifle if not put off air gunning forever 😂
@247450376 күн бұрын
Dad almost sounded like he knew what he talking about regarding to plastic fluid filled optics 😂😂😂 I remember my first airgun was a Relum, absolute rubbish but i was 9 and i loved it. If i were advising anyone on a low budget then HW99 would be the one to pick. Sorry the Hatsan isn't in the same league. Enjoying the reviews ❤
@elginsparrowhawk72036 күн бұрын
Unlike the HW99 the Hatsan 900x isn’t noted for cylinder galling.
@247450376 күн бұрын
Very true, same for some HW35s, easy enough to remedy though, if they are not sorted they will literally eat themselves.@@elginsparrowhawk7203

Yes the HW99 is by far a better rifle but it is 2.5x more expensive so depends on budget

I have bought a few PCP`s from you this year, but my favourite grab-n-go is my budget Remington Express XP (Looks similar) tuned to within an inch of it`s legal life, and my 51 year old Diana. Like PCP`s but love Springers. A bit of work on your trigger finger Lawrence LoL.

I must be lucky, I own a Relum as well, that’s running at over 10ft/lbs and is accurate at up to 30 yards.I can quite often put two pellets in the same hole with it.I can also do the same with the 900x which has an overall tighter group size than Relum. All springers benefit from tuning and fitting a tuning kit, even a HW99s. Considering the HW99 galling issue it needs to come with a”Flake” to sweeten the deal! A 900x would be a good choice and so would a HW99. I have both plus other HW’s.

@malcrandall13096 күн бұрын
I had one of these guns and it had a expensive pellet preference, JSB Hades for accuracy. Easy to improve the trigger by oil stoning the sears and drilling the piston to reduce recoil. Power was only 9 FPE from new. This wood version is much better made that the plastic stock version and the open sights were a pleasure to use but the firing cycle is quite noisy.

I found it a big moment when you let that barrel slip ;-) Nice budget gun with potential. A good lube would take away that grinding noice and maybe there is some trigger adjustment/tuning possible.

Hi Gents, another great video from you, so much so I purchased one from you and I cannot wait to receive it this week....I'll tell you what you could make a video on at some point? Is how to look after that lovely walnut stock? And what you need for it to look after it? Would certainly help me out and I'm sure it would help others look after their wooden stocks, maybe. Keep up the great work! Love all the videos...Dont forget the camo vids Gentlemen 😉👍

Airmaks haven’t always been Huma regulated. They swapped to Huma not to long ago as they could buy the regs in already assembled and setup rather than CDR assembling them themselves which proved a time saving for them.

I have owned the HW98 in 177 for about a year it shoots amazing using QYS streamlined pellets. I wouldn't bother with another gun after owning and using this. I've used it at the range and took it out shooting rats as well.

A very attractive prospect at the price point - currently running £379 vs the long @ £347. You mentioned oiling the stock. Does this mean the walnut is supplied uncoated (which would make modification easier) ? Another very useful, if folksy, video 😅. Thanks

Had three Turkish rifles in 3 years and all developed major faults just after warranty ended. They were all s***, sorry, pants. My AA S410 I bought in 2001 has had one service and still shoots perfectly and holds pressure. The quality control of the turks needs to reach a comparable level before I consider them again.
