Thanks for the great video! I have my own band and I need to make a good promo for our band. However, I have never done this before. What cameras and software would you recommend for starting out? Right now, all I have is an iPhone 11! LOL

Easier way is to team up with some filmmakers or videographers and they can take care of the camera and editing side of things. Depends who you get and what level of quality work you want, but they might do it volunteer for their show reel (student or beginner level) , or you mind have to give them some cash for a more professional job.

Are you using any additional lighting with this film? I'm just wondering how it might cope with both outdoor and indoor filming (in a stately home which is rather dark). Would I be better off shooting 500T indoors and turning it to black and white?

This was shot with only natural light coming in from the windows, which there was plenty of, so by no means dark. If you have lighting equipment available, I would recommend that so you have more control. Otherwise, 500T could work, but it would be a gamble depending how dark the house is. Tri-X is a beautiful film though.

modern batteries are 1.55 volt while the originals were 1.35 volt. They will work but could make your meter read wrong (too sensitive leading to underexposure?). Did you find gthis when shooting? Or was exposure okay? The option other than Weincells which are very expensive is hearing aid batteries whcih are zinc air also and cheap as chips. They read 1.35 volts but are the same size as SR44's so will need packing.

So you're telling me the Ektachrome Super 8 film I bought that was labelled Ektachrome and loaded into my camera, then subsequently sent to the lab as Ektachrome where it was developed and scanned as Ektachrome film was, in fact, not Ektachrome?

Yes Ektachrome is a reversal film. When you scan it, you don’t need to flip the colours because it develops as you see it (you can run it threw a projector). A negative film you have reverse everything to view it, and by doing so white sprocket holes become black (such as yours). Lots of people make this mistake

Greatly appreciate this video!! The batteries in the top section of mine are also very finicky - thought it was broken but sure enough, just needed to wiggle them around a bunch.
