The whole theory of carbon credits is a complete pile of s***. A company buying carbon credits is not cleaning up any of their emissions. It's all a money scam companies you sign up for your $50 an acre but then they need $15 an acre for their Agronomy services and then a $5 fee for this and a five-dollar fee for that by the time you get done paying them back you only get 10 or $15 an acre. Just another company that's a simple middle man that is making more money off of the farmer than the farmer is making. If these carbon credits are so important and so valuable Farmers should be holding out for $200 an acre

Small agricultural need more folks like you trying to help everyone. I love the concept of incentives to keep stuff growing. I’ve been interested in ways to adapt monoculture framers with other MF to help the soils. The ability to share land seems so hard to overcome. !!

Ph of 3-3.5 eh. Can we address what that does to your sprayer?? I know what a ph of only 4.5-5 does to ss poultry waters 😒

If you compare till vs no till on beans it always looks like the tilled beans grow faster early on. Do you have information if it actually makes a difference on yield? Because by the time August rolls around you can’t tell a difference

Have you used or recommended a residue breakdown product such as Excavator from Meristem on a field that had a bad case of tar spot (or other diseases that overwinter in the residue). Had this talk with a few growers over winter in regards to spending money on a product like this for this specific reason

What about using ATS applied in a 2x2? For sand, should a humic be added to help keep the ATS from moving down in the soil profile?
@gregkneubuhler5798
@gregkneubuhler5798 10 ай бұрын
Great question. You could use ATS in 2x2. That is an option if so equipped. The research has shown that ATS sprayed is not as effective as AMS or Pel Gyp. In theory it should be similar in response, but in research it's not as responsive as the other two.
@NickVanRegenmorter

I’m also curious about adding it in furrow or adding it in with the pre spray? I know small amounts of ats will desolve in water, will that still work at higher rates or will you need more water per acre?

I wonder about nutrient stratification in no till and how to combat it. Are cover crops the only option? Or should I even be concerned about it?
@gregkneubuhler5798
@gregkneubuhler5798 10 ай бұрын
That’s a great question. There is definitely stratification in no till. Cover crop is one way to help dilute that. Ironically, tilling soil at some point in time is actually not a bad idea. But in the meantime, cover crops could be a good assistant.
@davidkottman3440
@davidkottman3440 10 ай бұрын
Stratification is a problem that builds over time. Yields don't decline due to continuous no-till, but careful soil disturbance after prolonged no-till has resulted in astonishing yield bumps! I don't know if it's all stratification, but it's a likely suspect.

@gregkneubuhler5798
@gregkneubuhler5798 10 ай бұрын
@@zachoconnor7536 Great question. In theory, yes you can, however the data isn't as supportive to applications of pel gyp and AMS. Not saying it wouldn't work, but it would be my third choice behind pel gyp and AMS

I wouldn't drag my feet on spraying. Kill what's up lay down more residual. If it still doesn't rain before residual looses it's effectiveness than we got other problems. Also weeds need moisture to germinate so if it's dust dry go for it and let residual lay on top. A lot of pop up showers lately. You could lay down some dicamba for dry residual
