Hello Mohamed! Thank you for sharing this knowledge and congratulations on the excellent work. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong: In a 5G Tx, if the total power configured on the radio is, for example, 200W (53dBm), and the antenna gain is 21dBi (considering traffic beam and 64TRx), we will have an EIRP of 53 + 21 + 10*log(64) = 92dBm. Is that correct?
@mohamedeladawiashour5 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes, that’s correct as per my understanding. For more detailed information, you can also refer to page 555 in the 5G NR in Bullets book.

Excellent session Mohamed!! 2 questions from my side : A Ue in good radio conditions will transmit Volte packets every 20msec, but in poor radio radio conditions 20msec uplink transmissions are not feasible since TTI bundling is activated. Is it correct ? b) What is the RLC MODE for QCI 5 IMS signaling ? Thank you
@mohamedeladawiashour9 күн бұрын
Thanks, A) not sure, B) qci5 uses rlc am mode. Thank you

i have one question...suppose 1 site having 3 sectors so each sectors support different system frame numbers ? and each sector how many system frames supported it could be fix or it varies depending on cluster ? and in each sector system frames having diff numerology or it should be same for all system frames for a particular sector ?
@mohamedeladawiashour11 күн бұрын
Numerology should remain consistent, especially for TDD. Otherwise, you risk encountering a situation with significant interference due to potential overlap between downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) transmissions.

Amazing session Mohamed! Three questions from my side : a) Is PDCP duplication in ENDC an optional feature suitable only for use cases that require data reliability ? b) Is PDCP duplication applicable to NR-DC (5G SA) for URLLC use cases ? c) Is PDCP retransmission during HO an optional feature and applicable only to 5G SA ? Thank you

why we need SPS SRS as we have already aperiodic SRS..same is being trasmitted from basestation..and it is on request basis ? what is the logic behind to keep 2 on demand SRS from base station ?
@mohamedeladawiashour15 күн бұрын
Hi not 100% sure but here is my thoughts The Semi-Persistent SRS (SPS SRS) and Aperiodic SRS serve different purposes in 5G: • SPS SRS is pre-scheduled and ensures periodic uplink channel state reporting, reducing control signaling overhead for predictable scenarios like stable users. • Aperiodic SRS is triggered on demand and provides flexibility for dynamic scenarios, such as users in rapidly changing environments, where precise and immediate channel information is required. Having both allows efficient resource usage and adaptability for diverse network conditions.

Amazing session Mohamed! Way to go! One question from my side : Which physical uplink channel carries the RLC status PDU in case of DL data transmission ? I think PUSCH but I am not sure. Thank you
@mohamedeladawiashour21 күн бұрын
Thank you, i believe either PUCCH or PUSCH can be used and it depend on the scenario "The RLC Status PDU in the case of DL data transmission is carried on: - PUCCH for small feedback without simultaneous uplink data. - PUSCH for larger feedback or when combined with other uplink data transmissions. As a side note: The above information is based on my logical understanding and has not been directly referenced from any standard documents.

Hello Mohamed! I have a question regarding PUCCH that is used for ACK/NACK for downlink transmissions : In case that NR CA is used for the downlink transmission, the ACK/NACKs for the received packets by the Ue, are sent always on the PUCCH of Pcell. No PUCCH on Scells is sent, is it correct ? Thank you
@mohamedeladawiashour26 күн бұрын
Hi Georgi, yes you are correct but one more point to highlight in case 5G NSA for sure PUCCH is there for both PCell(MeNB) and PSCElL(SNB) but it is not available for any scell
