I was a very lucky boy.i went to work for Dale when I was 15 and we roped every nite.he took me under his wing,he was like a father to me. Happy roping clyde grinstead

I know it's crazy but I never liked seeing those calves get roped and tied down in practice or rodeos. I've seen too many have their necks broken in practice. Calf roping at rodeos is not something I watch. I realize it's part of ranch work but you aren't racing a clock. I wish it was no longer in rodeos...too cruel.

I'm over 60 and have Rodeo all my life and I have never seen A calf's necks broke. Just saying.

I love how this video shows all the steps and shows different horses at different stages of training. The bits are a lot harder than even what I use on my really hot and spicy barrel horse, who ironically stops like a roping horse, but everything else here is awesome. Really informative and shall be a big help in getting one of my young things able to catch calves for me.
