Thank you! Such a simple fix. I had taken my knife apart trying to fix it without any luck and thought it was a lost cause. Luckily I found your video, put the knife back together, followed your simple procedure and it’s as good as new. Thanks again!

It is too close. Handle to blade. It is slightly awkward to hold and get out of the sheath. Failed the stress test. I still like it but some distance from handle to blade would be nice.

Great video. I'm a knife noob and just got an akc f-16. I fidgetted with it for a few hours and out of nowhere (not ramming it into anything or abusing it), the same thing as your video showed. I assumed that's just what I get for buying a very cheap (relatively) auto otf. I watched your video, pulled the blade all of the way out, and it's now as good as new. And now I know the safety is a thing. Thanks.

You're right it is unbranded from a wholesaler so each brand gives it their own name. It's likely the same knife.

I just did this with mine, but every time the spring keeps falling off! Am I doing something wrong. Does the blade need to be out while rensetting?

The spring can be very jumpy when you're putting the case back together. Since it typically has the casing to prevent it from popping off. So for you it's likely just a matter of being really careful and trying a few times. It technically doesn't matter how you have the blade set when putting it back together, but I typically leave it in a "loose" state - ie not fully extended nor fully retracted. Thats gotta be my one pet peeves about dagger ground knives. JUST SHARPEN THE OTHER SIDE, WHATS THE POINT OF THE FALSE EDGE IF THEY ARE JUST GONNA MAKE IT LOOK DOUBLE EDGED ANYWAY

It's because if they sharpen the second false edge it becomes illegal to carry in a lot of American states, limiting their potential customers... I don't agree either but it's just the way it is

have you ever seen a single action with a spring that has a very very stiff compression profile, so that its penetrating power when opening would be through thin wood? i ask because, a single action being more reliable in a self defence situation would open if you are pinned down while a double action you may not have the space to open if something is in the way. you would be able to get initial piercing damage with the single

That's a really good question, because you're really getting to the bottom of whether there's a practical advantage to single-action OTFs. I don't know of any mass market OTFs with a spring that strong. If you think of the force needed there, that's a HUGE amount of force the spring would need to provide. To be honest, I wouldn't rely on any reasonably priced OTF to perform in a scenario like this. You're better off with a fixed blade, from that point of view. All that said, this is why I personally prefer double-actions when I carry an OTF because the benefits of a single action just aren't worth the conveniece drawbacks, in my personal opinion.

Is it true that a single action otf can penetrate an object on impact when deploying?

Depends on the object, blade sharpness, spring strength, etc. That said, in most cases the blade is just going to sit at halfway ejected until its path is clear, then it’ll finish deploying.

I just bought the nightstalker 2 from no limit knives off of bladeops. Do you feel like they use real m390 blade steel? That's all im concerned about. It looks like an amazingly well built high quality otf that would cost hundreds more if made in the us

Just got one with the black dagger blade. This knife has less blade play and a smoother action than my Ultratech or UTX 85 💀💀 looks like I’ll be getting a few more no limit knives
