Expensive. Total, you'll be paying at or over $1000 a month without a decent downpayment. If money is tight, get a 9th gen civic Si. They have more potential, too, after you save money for parts, and the maintenance is a lot cheaper. If you know how to work on your own car, ownership costs won't hurt as much.

Ive had my 2021 2ss 1le 3 yrs now bought it brand new. I put continental ultra season extreme contact tires on it at 900 miles and i changed the brake pads to the street pads because of the dust and that is all that i have done other than a K & N air filter.. no other costs at all..the car is solid as a rock!! Very low cost car! Except for tires but if you dont track it go with the tires i got..50k mile tires and im at 26k miles and the back tires are worn only because of my heavy foot!! Front tires still have plenty of tread! ..

1st to 4th doesn't happen if you shift at higher revs. Also I always keep handwipes in the car just in case I can't wash my hands cause I feel you. But I think it's good because it teaches you to take care of it and keep it clean.
